Will this intake work??

  1. Alright guys i got my first setup up and running with 9 plants at 6 an a half weeks old.
Starting to flower week 7 :hello::hello:

Anyway, i have my carbon filter all in one system that is my exhaust and it is venting outside.
Now for my intake i have a 6'' oscillating house fan, i was wondering i i could attach some venting to the fan, and just run it straight into my grow tent? would that work for my intake??( i will have another 12'' osilating house fan inside the tent for more airflow as well)

    Thanks guys

  2. Bump need some help here.

  3. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Make sure you use something that's not going to let light in for ducting it. Something opaque and with a few 90degree bends in it.

It probably won't move as much air as an actual duct fan, but if it's all you got...

  4. Were would be the best place to pick up a duct fan? and around how much do they run for?

  5. yeah, that should work fine. you can often just go with a passive intake as long as you have a good fan exhausting air out the top of your grow tent. as the hot rises and is expelled by the fan, negative pressure is created inside your tent, pulling in cool dense air from the vents. i actually just open 2 of the velcro flaps in my darkroom and my exhaust fan does the rest.

duct fans can be found at many hardware stores but sometimes online is the way to go, i know home depot carries them online.

  6. hope it works alright....

  7. You don't need a fan on an intake of a tent, plenty of air will be drawn in there if you use the right exhaust ;)
