Will this grow room work?

  1. I live in New England and its about to start getting cold. I'm growing in my closet and my room doesn't have heat, so I plan on putting a small heater that blows hot air, in my closet. Is that a good idea? How much of an issue is ventilation?

  2. Ventilation is very important. Plants need fresh air just like we do.

A heater is okay, just don't have it blowing directly on the plants. Just let it blow around the room. Temps should never get above 90, never below 65, and those are the extremes.

  3. dud e i suggest you worry about heat instead if growing pot.

  4. you could just use an HPS like a 400watter or something, use the heat it generates (still need ventilation obviously)

  5. I also have some heat probs and I just use a small port. heater and it shuts off and on when the temp changes, like $12 @ Walmart. I also have 2 fans: one above to draw out the hot air and an oscillating fan below for air circulation. So far so good.

  6. i read that a small propane (i think) heater would add CO2 to your closet. would it be a good idea too use something like this? it would add heat and CO2 all at the same time.

obviously you need ventilation regaurdless. just thinking that if you got to add a heater maybe you can get some other advantages out of it at the same time.

  7. Im only on my first grow so some of the more experienced growers could answer that. Propane heater may be a fire hazard though IMO. Good luck man.

  8. yea i wouldn't do the propane heater in the closet. I wouldnt leave
one in my room unattended either.
