Will This Break My Bong?

  1. Hi there. So I recently mourned the loss of my first bong. It was glass, 5mm thickness. The way it broke was that I put an ashcatcher where the bowl was supposed to go, but the ashcatcher had a chipped joint. I think what happened was because the joint was shorter it was putting more weight and pressure on the bong's female joint. That broke the joint on the bong so I couldn't put a bowl in it anymore. It cracked in two.

So fast forward. I have replaced both the bong (with a 7mm thick one) and the ashcatcher with the same one. Last night the same exact thing happened to the ashcatcher, and the joint is now a little shorter. This bong is better quality but do you think if I put it in my bong to keep using it will crack the bong again? It's a conundrum because I love the ashcatcher but I don't want to have to get a 3rd bong. Opinions? Pics attached. 2. stop using the ash catcher till you can get it repaired.

  3. I've had that happen before if you can get it fixed just wait if not I used mum for awhile till it completely broke at least it's still functional

  4. If it happened once.... even with the thicker glass, I'd refrain from trying it.

  5. I wouldn't risk it. Try getting a new ashcatcher but with a 90 joint, should put less pressure on the bong and on the atcher

  6. might scratch the female joint but it's still functional. I wouldn't risk it doe. lazyboy taking over the top page!

  7. Ya its definitely useable. I broke my down stem in half and was still able to rip. It eventually got annoying because I knew I wasn't getting enough surface area for the smoke. So its really how long you can tolerate it being broken haha :bongin:
