will the solo leave me wanting more ?

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by RubberUndies, Dec 8, 2012.

  1. I bought the mflb and only vaporized for like a week and loved it..after that week i started smoking again and haven't used the mflb since....

It took Way to long, and was too hard of a learning curve for when i wanted to vape with friends. And left me wanting more vapor and a more potent vapor that a desktop could deliver.

    My questions.

Will i get the solo just to say "oh shit why didnt i go with a desktop ? ". And how does it do vaporbonging

I don't have a Solo but from everything that I have read, it's a pretty hard hitting portable that does very well with vaporbonging, with the main downside being the restricted air flow.

But in regards to hard hitting portables that can produce HUGE vapor clouds, check out the new Cera from Thermovape. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/thermovape-cera.7504/

Lots of positive buzz on this new vape.

Regarding your last question, get a portable if you plan on using it when you're out and about. If not, get yourself a good desktop vape.

If most of your vaping is going to be done through a bong and you don't need a portable, the best vaporbonging vapes are the following: The Cloud, The VripTech and the LSV.

  3. The solo is a great portable. There isn't a learning curve like there is with the MFLB, you should be able to get large hits from the start with it. The fact that it has a restricted air path like Iwien mentioned means you can only draw so fast, giving you thick hits every time. If you are coming from a vape that doesn't restrict the airflow it can take a little getting used to, but even if you could pull faster you wouldn't want to because the heater couldn't keep up with it. It can give hits that come very close to the quality of the ones the EQ gives. Also as mentioned it can easily milk a small bong/bubbler to give you those satisfying hits.

  4. I used a Purple Days as my go to vape for over 4 years and it too had a very restricted air flow that provided a very thick hit while at the same time, being very efficient. Recently, I got an LSV without any restriction on air flow, and for me, the hits are just as thick if not thicker, but definitely more voluminous. I enjoy it a LOT more than the restricted airflow I got from my PD. It's just a lot more fun and enjoyable to use. But, as always, what I like does not necessarily equate to what someone else may like.

  5. The reason certain vapes like the PD and Solo that have restricted airflow is due to the design on it. Especially after coming from a desktop like the SSV I sometimes get aggravated at being limited as to how fast you can take your hits. While it might not be optimal for certain people that aren't able to take long slow breathes due to medical conditions, they still function well. I personally haven't had the chance to use the LSV yet, but I have heard nothing but good things. Like you, I enjoy not having a restricted air path. I like being able to take quick hits that give a huge amount of vapor.

Honestly my top 3 right now Im on the fence on are

    LSV , SOLO, New thermovape......

Thermo vape - don't want to wait

Solo - good price , does what i want

Lsv - pricey... But i will be doing most my vaporing through a bong....but i do want to be able to get fat hits without a bong too...

Which you guys think is more efficient in saving weed ? And isn't there attachments i can get for the solo so its airway isn't restricted?

  7. It's kinda funny. I enjoyed my PD with restricted air flow for years. Then when I first got my LSV, I hooked it up to my bong with their WPA, set the temp at 12:00, and used it exactly the same way as would have if I had my PD hooked up to my bong...........with a loooong, slow draw, and then...................coughed till my eyes dropped out my sockets while vapor literally filled the room.

The LSV is NOT a toy and is to be used by serious vaporists only. BEWARE !!!! ;)

Ooops..............this thread is about the Solo..........sorry.

  8. I believe the vape that will conserve the most of the ones mentioned is the Solo. The ThermoVape is considered to be more portable than the solo though. I wouldn't buy the LSV with the idea of conservation in mind, it is similar to the desktops by 7th floor, in that they are huge hitters. The stems can be replaced on the Solo, although the new models stems have four holes instead of two like the previous model did.

So when buying a solo in a head shop, make sure there's 4 holes so i know its a new model?

Oh, you can get fat hits without the bong by just using the transfer wand that comes with it. Check out uncle Vito: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf_Ru6JRB-Y]LSV and Wand Hash - YouTube[/ame]

The LSV isn't too pricey, at least compared to what it used to be. Now can be had for 189.99 thru 7th Floor. Got mine on Black Friday for 161 including their WPA and free shipping. Pretty good deal.

  11. That sounds just like the first time I ran my SSV through glass. I'm looking into getting a new vape specifically for use with glass now though. I'm not sure whether to get the LSV or the Cloud, i'm really leaning towards the cloud right now. No hate against the LSV though.

  12. That's right, the newer models should have 4 holes in the stem.

  13. If money was not a concern for me, I would have gone with the Cloud. But for vaporbonging, the LSV comes in a close second. The Clouds heat retention is a big plus. You can hit that thing as hard as you want for as long as you want and there's no drop in temp. Draw speed is totally taken out of the equation.

  14. Shit... The LHS Im at now has a pax here ..... Should i just go all out and get it right now ? Merry xmas to myself ?

  15. I've heard that the PAX continues to heat and vape your herb even when you're not hitting it. That, for me, would be a major downside.

Agreed. Id rather have the thermovape or solo over a pax personally. Id also certainly never exchange my LSV for one.

  17. Well i went with the solo lol....got an old model but oh well....
