will resin build up if using a screen?

    i have a glass pipe and the hole is kinda big so i have to use a screen because i smoke spice in it a majority of the time and there are small pieces.
    i like to build up the resin to smoke later and to make the colors change, if i use a whole metal screen in my pipe will resin still be able to build up inside the entire pipe since no ash can get through?

    I'm not sure if this information helps but I got a resin build up with my MFLB. It has a screen that no ash can get through and it only vaporizes so ash is never a problem.

    Resin builds up from the smoke, not ash. A screen won't make a difference.

    dont listen to these people, yeah it will but not as much as the pipe where your pretty little mouth goes on the screen will collect half ash half resin, to tell if you need to change the screen just take it out with a knife from the side you dont want to poke a hole in the center, now if its completeclogged (ie) no little squares, well, then its times ot chane it or better yet my favourite thign to do is never change it for like 4 months

    the chalked full of resin and  then if you run out of weed just put a nother screen down and kinda crumple the resin filled screen i a small ball carefull not to poke ur finger with the edges of the screen it hurts! and then all you need tod o is treat it as you would a piece of hash, litterally like hash then when you see the screen ball glow cherry red throw it out cus then your smoking steel and thats not bad but nor good for you i hope this helps

    Resin is gross
    bowls that change colors are gross
    Spice is stupid dumb
    Metal screens are gross
     
    I'm sorry I can't answer your ?....
    So I can say is at least find a glass screen

    Speaking from personal experience, yes it will, and it will be an absolute bitch to clean. One of my pipes has a built in screen and its not even usable anymore, there's practically no air flow. And I'm too lazy to clean it. I have a couple more though so it doesn't matter. One of those has so much buildup it's disgusting. It gets clogged all the time. But I only have 70% isopropyl so I can't clean it.
    If the hole is too big, you might as well get a screen, just make sure to take it out and replace it or clean it before its too late. Or just get a new $5 spoon at a flea market.

    Then buy a damn $3 bottle of 90% isopropyl and quit being so lazy. You had to spend more on the piece, so it's a bigger waste to not take the time to sit down and shake it clean with a salt and isopropyl solution or some Formula 420. I don't get stoners who refuse to clean their equipment and just go out to buy new pieces so they can smoke. I mean, it's your money, but you don't have to be a spendthrift about it... yikes. Must be nice, though.

    Screens are cheap af on amazon. Replacing the screen & forget cleaning them (time is money) may be less $ than buying a cleaning solution. :confused_2: I spend my time cleaning bongs vs screens. YMMV :passing-joint:

    That's what I'm talking about. I'm not saying clean the screen, which is honestly easy af to do. I'm saying don't throw your bong or pipe away just because you can buy another $20 or $5 one down at your local Magic Market. It's a part of the reason there's a market for garbage equipment and it's irrefutably a bigger waste of money in the long run.

    Yes it will.,.You can bend and wiggle the screen to get the shit out if you want to smoke it.,I just hold it in small pliers and torch it till it stops burning.,then it just needs a little scraping and it's good as new.,I have screens in all my bowls to keep flaming chunks of bud from going down my throat.,
    I clean my pipes regularly so I taste the bud I'm smoking.,not the resin swag from bud from last week.,

    Been there done that, would not do it again. Smoking resin tastes like :poop: & does a number on your lungs. Grow your own & you no longer need to. Burning cannabis, leaves resin/oil/ash DOI. :rolleyes: It's the cost to play, get used to it. Learn it, live it, love it.;) Any screen will get clogged eventually. I use stainless 1/2" screens from amazon IN BULK for cheap & just change them vs cleaning them. An alternative is no screen in a bong & let the ash collect in the water. OTOH a screen in a bong bowl & the water stays much cleaner. :confused_2: Decisions decisions.
