Will my computer run BF3 on High?

  1. not ultra... high please.
    specs:
    gtx 560 ti
    i-5 2500 3.3 ghz
    8 ram
    p67 extreme 4 asrock mobo

    on a 1920-1200 res?

i'm worried i might have to purchase another 560 ti to just get high graphics.
please don't troll and say search somewhere else.
i'm looking for legit input that i can smoke a blunt too and be filled with delightful data from my fellow Grasscity community :smoke:

  2. Have the specs been released for the game? All you can do is compare for now until you actually get the game.

  3. yes they have been released

  4. Battlefield 3 Minimum Requirements

I've heard that the Rec settings are only Medium compared to what it can do with it's Ultra Setting. (2 GTX 580s for ultra apparently?) :(

  5. You should be able to run high. I think the recommended card was the 460gtx and you're a generation above it. Your RAM is definitely sufficient as it recommends 4. Your processor is fine as well. Any quadcore is going to just fine. The rest is pretty much your RAM and GPU.

I'll be running on medium or low until I can upgrade early next year... :(

  6. well, by next year all parts will be so cheap! you'll be swimming in fresh new games with better graphics than consoles for a cheap price. like i bet next year a GTX 580 will be 200$ if not, less.

  7. DICE has come out and said that to comfortably run the game on ultra you would need SLI 580s. Pretty ridiculous considering my 580 lightning can comfortably run Metro 2033 on max. They're setting the bar high. Didn't mention res though, but I would assume they're talking 1200p, because 1080p is easy to run.

  8. You dont NEED 2 580s, thats for 60fps+, your 560 ti probably wont go ultra, TBH nvidia has really let me down with theyre new cards.... the 580 is a joke for the price my 480 is half the price and only 15% slower. Try getting an ATI, a 6970 should run even on ultra but you will have some major fps lag.

  9. During the battlefield, there is no time for major fps lag!!! lol
If my 560 ti lags on high, i swear I'll be disappointed because i can't stand playing games on anything less than high. I miss the days of computer games when there were no options for graphics settings. They were universal and optimized for most computers. Like Diablo, Starcraft, Zoo tycoon. lawl

  10. It will run it on high for sure with no lags, dont worry. Your card is the recommended card for BF3 and they wouldn't recommend it if it wouldn't play smooth and on settings that make the game look good.

Im sure there will also be a lot of graphical settings so you can tweak it to run best for your setup. Ultra will be reserved for people with really high end hardware, or a few years down the road when DX11 cards get cheaper.

youtube videos of your card playing the BF3 alpha and that will give you an idea of what you can expect.

  11. At worst, medium. At best, good on high. It also makes a difference that you're running it on that high of a resolution.

Unfortunately, nobody will know until the 29th. Beta, ho!
