Will I make it to harvest?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by PrairieGrower, Sep 23, 2020.

  1. I have 2 plants in soil, 6 gal pots. They are about 3ft tall. They were topped at the end of June. I was feeding them a 2 part fertilizer up until 2 weeks ago .Base 4-0-1, Bloom 1-4-7. I have switched this to
Dyna Gro Bloom 3-12-6. I use tap water, left out for 24 or more hours, PH'd to 6-6.5.
I noticed pistils starting around Aug 30. Since then, bud sites have been forming, but the growth is slow. It looks like plants are still growing leaves. Temperatures were low a couple of weeks ago. They have been through two rounds of frost. I covered them with a sheet.
The next 14 days of weather look ok, but that won't last long.
Will I get anything off these plants or am I just being impatient?

  2. Might as well let them go as pulling them now or anytime soon would be a waste IMO.

  3. Now you see the importance of growing an earlier flowering strain outdoors. Next thing to do is grow a bunch of different strains until you find one that finishes in time, then clone that and run it every year or make seeds and run those.

    Another option would be autos.

  4. They look fine. Vertical growth stops around 3 weeks into flower. You probably have 4-5 weeks to go. If you can keep them from freezing you’ll be fine

  5. I have no plans to pull them. I’m in it until the end!

  6. Yeah , this was a quick decision back in May. They are clones from an indoor grow, either skunk or afghan. I’ve read up on autos and that’s the plan for next year.

  7. Thanks, I hope October weather cooperates!

  8. Should I defoliate or prune anything at this stage? I’ve removed yellow leaves but nothing more since I cleared the bottom for easier watering.

  9. You can pull off dead or dying fan leaves. I usually wait until they are just about falling on their own.

I’m thinkin you should not defoliate. It’s a good food store and extra leaves in case of frost damage. Just the damaged ones that come with a gentle tug

  11. Thanks again guys. My buddy is telling me to cut smaller branches and low bud sites
