so my oil rig chipped a little bit over the weekend. the joint piece where the nail goes in has a small piece of glass that broke off. the oil rig itself is still perfectly functional even with the chip because once the globe is on it dosent matter anymore, still though its not so fun looking at the break and i was wondering if i put gorilla glue on to fix it will that work. i mean i know it will glue i back on but will the continous heat from the torch and extremely hot nail make the glue separate????
After searching google for a few minutes it seems that anywhere from 150c-220c you will compromise the glue. Who knows how many toxins you could be releasing.
This is a terrible idea.... Even if you do use "glass glue" after a few heating cycles it's gonna loosen up. Why risk inhaling unknown chemicals when you can just buy a new rig? If money's tight, get some China glass as a fill in... Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
