I can see the clickbait articles in my mind now: "Everything you knew about weed is wrong" "What new disease is linked to pot use?" "You're ganja die if you smoke this" We've been advancing medical use so much but what if it started to work against us?"
There have been news reports of people who have died taking synthetic pot, which is not actually real pot. So they fearmonger, 'ah pot is bad for you' even though it's not even the same thing. Also, Monsanto or gmo companies messing with the genetics and selling it, and then people getting sick off of that and then harming the reputation of cannabis.. The truth is most people who know nothing about something are quicker to judge it as harmful. Even in our government, ( which is legalizing it countrywide next year ) the cannabis 'experts' have never tried it in their lives...they are no experts and should not be in charge or even designated that position. They are trying to control production and distribution to make more, little do they know how easy it is to grow it at home
It's been in use (study) since the dawn of times ... either people are dropping dead because of weed usage or it's actually good for you. I don't expect earth shattering discoveries to be made about marijuana. Same with bananas I guess.
Smoking is bad for your lungs and body, though not really bad. Eating cannabis is probably healthier than not.
Yes like all other thinks you consume, it comes and goes in cycles over the years, what is perceived to be healthy at one time will be perceived unhealthy until opinions change. Eventually the cycle repeats. Those in the medical professional have differing opinions just like everybody else.
I remember taking a health class in high school and they were talking about drugs in one unit. They were telling us about all the bad and horrible things weed does to you, "it makes your eyes red!!! You'll get sleepy looking eyes!! You'll get... hungry!!!!" Sounds horrible So to answer your question, no but plenty of slander is on the way, its been here for a while anyways
