Will a seed from a Fem plant be female?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by fred25, Nov 22, 2020.

  1. I grew some Fem grandaddy purple and I have found 2 seeds so far out of about 3ozs .

The plant was grown indoors from a fem seed and it didn't hermie or get pollinated.

Will they be female or is it just 50/50 luck of the draw?

  2. It depends on the pollen. If it was from the odd banana from one of your plants or some pollen from a neighbors herm it will be female. If some pollen from a male plant found its way into you grow its 50/50.

  4. Hermaphrodites, also known as hermies, are plants that exhibits both the characteristics of male and female plants. They become she-males due to the two most common reasons. First, its genetic imprint- if it’s ought to be one then it’s going to be one. Second is because of a stressful or hostile environment. Becoming a hermy is an adaptation technique that marijuana plants use to survive. As the environment becomes unfavorable, it hastens it’s reproduction by making both the stigma and the sac for its self-pollination. Later, it will be capable of producing another plant in another time and place.

  5. No male parts or anything like that.

  6. The seeds might be duds. You need female hairs and some kid of pollen to create a seed whether its xx or xy

  7. I bet when you trim you’ll find a male flower or two. Sometimes they’re tucked inside female calyxes
