Idk if this violates the rules, but i'll keep it as vague as possible. Mods remove it if it does, though I needn't tell you what to do.... Thinking about making some homemade non-alcoholic apple cider from some various NY sourced apples. Then adding some mashed apples, and then adding some possibly wild yeast... Want to make a truly NY cider, just not sure on wild yeast tolerance. Might use store bought, but my cider is gonna be homemade. Question what do you guys think? Edit Ik with the wild yeast it may take a turn midway through or it may not
lol whether you are using store bought or wild yeast?? your end result will still be homemade cider you new yorkers are something else
Things burping right now, and it sounds like a fucking cricket lol I'm high and kinda thought it was at first so I was looking around like wtf?
I don't know about wild yeast but you can make homemade yeast here's a couple of link's: http://www.instructables.com/id/Stop-Paying-for-Yeast-Make-Your-Own/ http://www.ehow.com/how_6532295_homemade-yeast.html Of course you can google homemade yeast or making your own yeast. OH! And google making homemade DRY yeast!I was trying to find out about yeast if God forbid something happened and we had to go back to living in the old way's. But hey if it works for bread I don't see why It might not work for home brewing! I will have to experiment with that! Though it has been a few years since I have made homemade wine. I have made my own wine with standered store bought yeast and the wine came out fantastic and was so easy to make!. I'm thinking of making some homemade Mead wine. IF I can find a local bee keeper! Good luck!
Came out pretty nice actually, forgot about this post... Makes yea think about what other shit you've forgot
Did you just let it open ferment for a bit to collect the yeast or did you culture the yeast and pitch it into the cider? Im gonna fuck around with some cider soon now that my fermentation chamber is going and it wont waste space in my house for like a year lol
