WIFI seeds not germing bad seeds?

  1. hey guys just popped a pack of 11 Og Raskal OG Wifi seeds and 1 have oly one so far that has sprouted. I have germed and sprouted seeds before without any problems. Not sure what I could have gone wrong. I even started some other seeds at the same exact time and place and those already popped the soil. Its been 4 days and only one WIFI that looks like its gonna make it. Someone mentioned they might be bad seeds. I got them at a dispencery in socal cali and they just had the seeds in a lil clear box right next to the window and lights. It also gets 100 plus in the summer here not to mention the guy told me they had the seeds for atleast a year.

Anyways this is how I did it. Soaked the seeds in a cup of water for 24-48 hours. Then planted the seeds in fox farm light warrior. Where I have them in a humidity dome with a heat mat under. lights on 18-6 . I've read to let the seeds soak until they sink to the bottom. I also read to let them soak until the lil tap root comes out. The other seeds I germed after 24 hours they had a long tap root. After soaking the raskal wifi seeds they barely showed any tap. Someone said that soaking them for too long or past the time initially sinkto the bottom can drown the seeds. I may have to watch the time I have them soaking better and not let them stay too long? Any help would be great.

  2. Although your techniques are correct, I suggest that you soak seeds for 24 hours, then 24 hours to a damp towel, to allow the white tail time to grow to 1"-1/2", then gently transplant, this extra step allows the grower great comfort, at seedling time, as you "KNOW" the seeds will grow, as they have developed a root, this is what I've been doing for the last 10 years and has removed a lot of guess work.

Regards the WIFI ?? see if you can get them exchanged, only an amateur would consider leaving seeds in the open sunlight with high temps, best to keep them in the freezer or fridge

  3. Here's what I do... I did 12 seeds... 11 popped at same time, other took 2 more days... I take a Tupperware container, take a paper towel , wet the towel, let the standing water run off, put in container, drop seeds in, seal lid, place in kitchen cabinet you rarely use, check it 3 days later... No light, don't over water, for harder shelled seeds and larger ones, I take an Emory board and LIGHTLY scratch the seed shell so the moisture can penetrate and kick start the hormone. The little guy doesn't need any lights until the first real leave produce... The leaves that pop from the seed at the beginning don't need much light since they have never seen light before... I see a lot of people stick them under such intense light at first that the little guy has more problems at start than it should, similar to taking a veggie plant from halide to a cfl.... A major lighting change... Be easy with them, they'll be ok. I was taught this by a guy who has been growing for 40 years... He's really good and I'm still learning a lot from him.... Experience is key... Oh, and to add... Don't over water.... Probably one of the most common mistakes folks make is shoving tons of food and water down them.... They're little with no good rooting yet, so your most likely gonna burn it or drown it.... Hope that helps you out...
