oh know what you mean. They were all out of extensions. Had to go with hose fitting. No nose burning.
Pretty sure some kinds of metal are dangerous to smoke from so if u choose to use metal at least do your research and make sure you have the right kind. I hate metal pieces they don't feel right and some might be unsafe so I just stick with glass. If u like what you have, cool. But you can get a glass piece so cheap and know it's fine if u want and not worry about any bullshit.
You got me thinking. When I lined my wood pipes with aluminum tubing and then I put glass tube inside the aluminum tubing I go from 12mm air way to 8mm air way or ID . Maybe I will go with Carbon fiber tube then a glass tube inside. See if I can get a larger glass tube inside my wood pipes . I can't go with just wood over glass tubing. the pipe would be to fragile . My pipes hit great because you can almost get your little finger inside the stems mouth piece. All my pipes are made on a metal lathe or a cue lathe . when I spin a pipe it's not balance because of the bowl section That is enough to bend the aluminum tubing inside the pipe and break the glass tubing inside. The outside diameter of my pipes are about 0.850 . Aluminum tubing OD is 0.513 which means the thickness of the wood around the tubing is about 0.175 of a inch. I love the way my pipes hit but smoking in glass is the safest. Its tough to make a long pipe that is glass lined and the pipe not be fragile
LMAO someday i wish i could trade my wife and 3 kids in for a basement bedroom set up at my moms and work part time at Taco Bell..... BUT.... that opportunity ship has SAILED AWAY long time ago!!!!!
I went in the Navy on my 17th birthday, 4 months later I was on west Pac , 9 month deployment to Asia during the fall of Saigon1974 and 1975 . When I got out of the navy I lived with my folks for about a month . Long enough to get a job and my own place and pick up. I have no issues in helping someone make their own pipe . Been doing it for decades .
