Couple 'trained 12-year-old girl as dominatrix' A US couple have been charged for training a 12-year-old girl as a sexual dominatrix, and forcing her into prostitution. Authorities said Todd Barkau, 35, and the 44-year-old mother of the girl, who is now 20, face charges of commercial sex trafficking for allegedly running a sex business, the Associated Press reports. "Barkau obtained control of a 12-year-old girl and he groomed, trained and forced her to become a sexual dominatrix," lawyer John Wood said. The New York man began training the girl in 2000 and forced her to have sex with him and other men, the indictment said. The girl was allegedly sold on the internet as a 19 to 20-year-old dominatrix when she was 14 by Barkau, who started a sex business in their Blue Springs home. Photographs of the teenager engaging in sexual acts were also circulated online. The mother of the girl has been charged with "encouraging and participating" in the business. The young girl was forced to watch pornography on the internet as a "teaching tool", according to the indictment. Barkau was arrested near Niagara Falls in Buffalo while the mother was arrested in Dallas last Friday. Prosecutors have filed a motion to hold the two suspects without bond after investigating the case for two years. Mr Wood said the couple is accused of having made $85,000 through the sex trafficking.
