Why OWS=/=The Tea Party

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Mist425, Oct 20, 2011.

  1. I don't think anyone is confusing the OWS for the Tea Party or vice versa. The Tea Party has openly voiced their disdain for the OWS protests.

  2. Main difference is tea party members didn't shit every where and most actually pay taxes because the majority were employed . One started a political party, the other steals from each other and doesnt have any real clear goal. We know they aren't the same.

This was posted in another thread, but since you brought up this exact topic here..

    Tripace got it right..

Together the OWS movement and the TEA party movement represent the anger against the two partners in crime..

  4. yeah i'm pretty sure the Tea Party talks about small government and less taxes (even though they elect big government politicians to represent them )

while the OWS folks want more gov't and taxes..

i guess they both like to protest, but besides that.. not much similarities imo.

what is the tea party anyway? It's just republicans pretty much, no?

^Republicans, Libertarians, similar minded independents, and some Blue Dog Democrats

  6. At least the tea party crazies direct their anger at the right people. It may not be the right anger, but at least they are pointed at government.

OWS still doesn't know it's head from its ass.

  7. I just watched a Tom Woods speech, and in it he quoted Carl Olglesby: the old right and the new left are politically and morally coordinated.

In other words, we have many of the same concerns, but different solutions.

  8. the binding thread of the tea party is anger at the status quo

the binding thread of the OWS protests is anger at the status quo

ideals aside, I think it is unwise for one to push the other away from them, when they should be feeding off of each other's strength to overthrow our status quo.

  9. for the record, it appears there are many a libertarian down there ranting about wall st,/ govt robbing the people.

but now the media has us chasing our own tails, the conservative media says no! they're stupid ! ignore them! and the tea partiers say ya good call they suck, poopin and shittin all over this bitch.

the liberal media has but cockblocking the tea party since 08 , and the OWS people think that the tea party is part of the enemy.

its a real conundrum, but actually nasa joe pretty much beat me too all this

  10. yes and no.

i don't think you'll ever convince a "tea partier" that we need higher taxes and more government spending..

and vise versa w/ the OWS people. You'll never convince them that we need lower taxes and less gov spending.

as far as bank bailouts and things like that, i have yet to meet anyone who was in favor of that.

i wouldn't be upset if our nation split up into smaller nations, in order to address the wishes of it's people most.

  12. i'd prefer 50 smaller nations.. but that ain't gonna happen..

  13. i'm waiting for the Democratic Republic of North America, made of current Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island and maybe virginia.

that'll wind up being like 6 other countries after that

  14. They were called states

  15. The pictures of OWP members defecating on the Flag and on a police car have already passed through the Tea Party.
You'll be lucky to get the average Tea Partier to knowingly share a building with an OWP now.

  16. The tragedy of America, both factions hate the bailouts and the fusion of our financial system and our government.

Yet rather then working together to separate the two powers, the two faction's cannot overcome personal prejudices held about one another, prejudices contrived by our all too complicit MSM.

All the while the hidden culprit the Federal Reserve laughs away as your savings vanish, you lose your job, your home is repossessed, etc.

The sad thing is the real inflation from all the Fed's tinkering in our money supply hasn't even been felt yet.

Remember, divide and conquer is the name of the game.

  17. I prefer cities and/or communities size. No nations needed.

  18. When the teabaggers protest the bank bailouts it's a "grassroots, patriotic movement". When everyone else protests the bank bailouts it's a bunch of hippy, trustfund, commies.
