Why its been 6 months since I've toked up...

    Hey guys,
    Well I'm sure most of you don't know me that well, but I used to visit these forums daily. I've had my share of ups and downs from Marijuana, but I have to say I have no regrets. Its been six months now since I've taken a puff, and I have to admit I miss it a lot. I've had to stop because it was time for me to make decisions on my career. I started toking when I was 16, but two years have gone by now and I've graduated from high school. It was a tough decision to make, and I know some of you will probably hate me, but I've decided to take up law enforcement as a career. I'm currently in university though studying Criminology, which I guess you could say makes it even harder on me (the whole campus experience). However, after my studies, I plan on joining the RCMP and going into investigation. I guess a lot of my friends thought I was crazy to become a cop, since I was a pretty big pothead. I guess lately the temptation of taking another puff has made me reflect on my past experiences and visit my old favorite sites. I just hope someday, Marijuana will become legal in Canada, and I won't have to fight the urges any longer. Till then, all I can do is look back at all the great times the herb has given me.
    Please don't hate on me for being a cop. I just posted to see if anyone else here was in the same situation as me, or had any thoughts on this. I know I'll always be on the pro-legalization side.

    Hey man if you dropped weed to better your life/career more power to ya. I quit 6 months ago for the same reason, I was tired of being a lazy unmotivated pothead, so I quit in order to better myself. Some people can smoke a boatload and lead a productive life, but I sure as hell can't. When you become a cop though, make sure you take it easy on the potheads you bust, remember you were there once.

    yeah dude there was some dude earlier today who was in the same situation as you. good luck, and i don't hate you for it. i admire you for being able to just quit like that.

    man its been about 6 months since I last toked too; although I didn't quit cuz I was lazy, I quit cuz I was having random drug tests and shit that I could not detox for (the were blood tests). Hope everything works out for ya man, and life goes smoothly for ya.

    I give mad respect for you turning to law enforcement. It's always good to see a fellow stoner out there being committed enough to prove to everyone that not all cops are assholes. IMO Canada will definately be the next place to be legalized if anything. People are getting a lot more relaxed about smokin MJ and learning to accept it medicinally.

    i agree with these other guys, more power to ya. im actually thinking abou a carreer as a cop, but it probably wont work out. but yeah, just go easy on the smokers and the midnight tokers...

    yea iv been smokin since i waz 14 and iv been smoking for it seems like evr and iv thought about quiting but then wen i think about it i could jus smoke it up and if i even get a real job (othr then selling weed) then i might stop but idk well good luck in bein a cop u should b easy on ppl like give a couple warnings 1st

    I have seen every episode of COPS atleast 10 times over. My dad used to be a cop. His old cop friends hang out at our place all the time. I have always been fascinated with cops. I have decided that if all this college time and my major dont work out, then I'm becoming a cop. I will always be generous and lenient with my herb smoking brethren. I respect all cops (and everyone that aspires to be one), even though most of them are against our way of life.

    good for you man! no one should have any reason to hate on you for that, its a very intelligent mature decision.


    but i must ask, why do you have to stop now? Just figure its for the best or what? I mean, you can still smoke after school, or just on weekends right?

    Good going, I don't hate you. It's been 15 days since I've smoked, parents be givin me those damn at-homes. Be a cool cop tho, don't be an asshole. Get the guys that are actually commiting crimes, and doing the bad shit, not the peaceful stoners out there, there not hurtin anyone.:wave:
