Why isnt there a commercial for legalizing marijuana

  1. Why isnt there a legalize weed commercial It would help get the word out and change the publics view of marijuana it could be like the anti tobbaco ads but it would be pro weed like say every 5 minutes some one is getting aressted for weed and have a normal looking kid getting aressted or some thing but i think a commercial would really push legalization

  2. Its too "taboo" for TV!

  3. Because the media outlets are owned by prohibitionist-favoring ass hats looking to steer markets to their own benefit. NORML tried to buy space in Times Square on the big jumbotron I believe is owned by CBS, and were denied, despite having the money to do it.

Ironically, shows like "2 1/2 Men" on CBS constantly have pot references in them, but the network will not allow changing of the status quo via reform ads.

  4. Yeah, but shows like that usually stir it in a negative way. "Obviously" its okay to reference to pot if it's a negative reference in todays media, but not the opposite way.

  5. Them networks on that bullshit

  6. Because it's illegal

  7. ...which is why there would be a commercial promoting legalization.

  8. no joke we should start a stoner rebellion. Hand out pamphlets and shit..

  9. There's legalization commercials on here in CO all the time.

When I see these commercials I start to think maybe there is hope for humanity lol.

  10. the goverment.

  11. Because we can't afford them. The economic disparity is such that the bottom 85% of earners (the majority) can't afford to outbid the top 15% of earners (the vast minority) for media attention.

  12. little orginazation by the feds called the FCC i beleive.

  13. I've honestly seen it painted on most comedy shows as a "non-issue" and a laughing matter. Little by little, if there is to be any sort of legalization, they have to try to un-do all the lies they have told for so long. Making it out to be OK and "no big deal" goes a long way toward doing that. You can tell things are happening in the media, as previously, such viewpoints would not be allowed.

  14. Yeah you have a good point. But I do believe some of the references can do more harm than good if you understand?

  15. When I was living in Ca back in the day I remember having them for Prop. 215. Thats how they got it passed there for meds I belive.
