ok i had a thought just a moment ago while i was listening to music and laying my head down on my desk

you know how all plants have chemicals or physical attributes that aid in its' natural defense from predators? like psilocybe mushrooms mindfuck anyone or anything that eats it, jimson weeds cause major delirium, the point is, these kinds of plants (and more) fuck with the mind and pretty much tell the person or thing that took them "this is what you get for eating me"

now weed, how is this a natural defense? it feels very nice, and as a matter of fact, i'd go back and eat more if i was some sort of herbivore, it smells delicious normally so it makes it even more appetizing, this makes me kinda question weeds ability to come from nature in general (granted it's a plant and all plants come from nature but what kind of animal would want to avoid eating something that smells wonderful and looks delicious and causes nice mind numbing-like effects) - weed should of been wiped out long ago, but here it is

tl;dr: thc is not a suitable natural defense for weed

  2. I have this same though often... Also when weed is in it's natural environment is will be fertilized by males, be very seedy, so not a lot of THC production.. And THC is also not extracted well when it is eaten raw. sooo I don't see how THC would be affective in defending a plant b/c the animal would not feel anything like we do :bongin:

  3. weeds typically dont need much defense since they can grow in any environment and like any weed it will just spread. that is its defense. annoyance.

  4. i wouldn't be annoyed if i saw a ton of weed plants everywhere

  5. lol becuase when bugs try to eat the marijuana plant the THC gets them stoned and makes them pass out before they can eat it.

at least thats what i've read idk if it's true

  6. It's defence is that it provides something to people, which means they use it and spread the seeds.

    That's my opinion, anyway :smoke:

  7. The first time you eat one too many weed brownies you should realize the answer to your question.

Imagine being so high you're afraid to move. It's more than a little disturbing. And if I were an animal who just chowed down relentlessly on some buds, I might decide never to do that again after a few hours.

  8. I reckon it might be the other way around. Being of use to humans meant we scatter the seeds around, like shitting seeds after eating fruit.

  9. lol me neither but i was talking about weeds in general(all of them), like stupid crab grass and shit.

  10. There is no one answer to questions like this, no doubt both facts contribute.

  11. haha theres a poisonous mushrooms what tastes EXTREMELY GOOD (its deadly poisonous but some people lived) how can you explain that one :D.

  12. My dog always jumped back and would try to attack my weed bag when I'd hold it in front of him, so he didn't like something about it.

  13. It's not a defense. Animals would eat it along with the seeds and crap it out somewhere else so the plant could grow. Very common survival mechanism commonly found in fruits.

  14. I don't think this is really true, but it's kind of a cool point. I mean, cannabis has been really successful at increasing it's species population mainly because of human help. So the whole time weed was helping us, we were helping weed.

  15. in the movie, marijuana was first grown high in the mountains so it needed the thc to protect it from the uv rays(i think im rly blazd go watch it)

  16. i thought eating normal weed didnt even affect your mind unless it was cooked? on that note, i had a sweet bagseed plant sprouting the other day in my back yard. i checked on it yesterday and it was fucking gone, I'm assuming something ate it since no one even knew about the plant and it's a hell of an effort to break into my house to steal a 1-inch high bagseed plant

Check this link out if you want to learn a lot more about the plant and how it works. It is better to have a background in plants and biology because you will be able to understand it better but it is still an informative read.

On page 7 and continuing on page 8 it talks about trichome production. The paper says that trichomes are produced to attract pollinators. This may be proven because when the female plant is then pollinated it stops the trichome production.

  18. People aren't the only thing that a plant would need defense against.... Animals are a more likely opponent to a wild adult budding cannabis plant, if animals eat the 'weeds', they'll usually eat large amounts and all that thc is going to make the animal FREAK!

See animals don't have the mental capacity to enjoy being fucked up hard on bud :smoke:

To them its just disorienting and makes them easy prey... they'll never be going and eating the cool looking plant again thats for sure..... Cannabis wins! It can grow and thrive without having to deal with pesky critters for very long at all :)

    :smoke: :smoke:
    stay bugged
