Why is my weed getting lighter?

    Hey, I'm new to grass city forums, I just had a question with no one to ask as my friends can't relate to my problem.

    I pick up my weed in weight every month and split it up to a half ounce a week. I don't have a vacuum sealer so I put the three I don't need currently in ziploc bags and put them aside.
    However, after two weeks went by and I opened up the third bag, it had gotten lighter. Not by much, just by .3 or .4. But that led me to check the fourth bag, which had also shed about .3 of a gram. (This is the first time I've noticed this because I didn't have a scale until this month) I feel that since my weed isn't being kept vacuum sealed or in a humidor it's drying out while sitting.

    Is my weed drying out a little and losing weight while sitting? Does anyone else have this problem?

    Yup...that is what is happening. It likes to be kept at 62%. Instead of ziplock bags(not really airtight) store your stash in Ball/Mason jars with rings at least. Have you heard of Boveda 62 packs?

    yea its just drying out as time passes, as said above get some jars

    Jars are the best with silica packs from ur vitamin bottles that are ideal or those expensive Boveda things ....lol

    store ur weed in the freezer, its light and heat that screws any good weed

    Would the cold make the trics brittle and fall off? Isnt the idea behind ice hash kinda sorta?

    There's a weed fairy, and she goes around to every container of weed that sits idle for too long. She doesn't like it when weed is just sitting there doing nothing. So she takes a little bit out and adds it to the stash of someone who smokes a lot but can't get it easily for one reason or the other. It sounds like the weed fairy has been taking from your stash!

    yeah sorta, but being gentle with frozen weed is the way,

    I store mine in an old lunch box, same with seeds
