United States presidential election 2016 Why I'm not voting for Hilary Clinton

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Brittany SmokesWeed, Mar 5, 2016.

  1. I want to be a good representation of a young Bernie Sanders supporter. I'm already getting comments about just wanting welfare and free healthcare. Please let me know what you guys think about this. What is so horrible about wanting free/affordable public college when its practically required for a job that pays more than starvation wages.

  2. It would be really nice, but Trump has the numbers from the sounds of things so far. >.>

  3. Because the money to pay for the free shit you think you deserve just for producing Co2 is taken by force from those who have actually earned it. I think Bernie supporters are some of the most selfish people out there using "its for the good of society" and "what about your fellow citizens" as a thin veil to hide their greed.

  5. Its greedy to not want to be ripped off by a corrupt high education system?

  6. I actually did in the video. Not sure if you saw.

  7. No of course not. That is perfectly reasonable. To expect the highly corrupt government to steal from other hard working Americans to subsidize the cost that you pay to the highly corrupt educational system who they are in bed with in order to pay your tuition is extremely greedy. You are fighting the wrong people. The only reason the educational system is so expensive and corrupt is because that expansiveness and corruption are fostered by the corrupt government that you wish to have take care of you. Place blame where the blame is due. The government.

  10. Obviously there is some ignorance going on here.. I do not wish to have the government "take care of me" Nearly everyone I meet who supports Trump or any other Republican you all say the same thing. You say we want the government to "take care of us" Its like it has been hammered into your heads or something. You say it even when its completely irrelevant and flat out wrong. Perhaps its just like the fear tactics that work so well on some...

So what if taxes are raised to help the good of the population? Anyone who agrees that public university is overpriced, but doesn't want to take a small tax cut to help solve the problem needs to examine their idea of greed. People from other countries go to university for free or low cost, come to America and find employment. When our own Americans can't even afford a year at university without going thousands of dollars in debt.

  11. ohh okay basically I said that doesn't care about where her campaign money comes from thus no morals. i also dont agree with her stance of higher education

  12. And she pays herself from campaign contributions, which is understandable if you are an average Joe who quit their job to run for president, but she has plenty of money.

  13. Hillary is just fake. She doesn't know who she is, she has been a politician for so long, playing the system to advance. Her positions are fake, her smile and candor is fake, she has been used and built by the establishment. I really doubt there is much of a human being left inside her shell.

  14. Very true. She says whatever she thinks will advantage her at the moment. Another thing I think is really sad is that I know a lot of women that are voting for her just because she's a woman. While I agree the world needs a woman president, Hilary is not the right choice.

  15. Firstly, o had a laugh at you claiming ignorance on my part.

You are barking up the wrong tree with all of this. I fucking hate republicans almost as much as democrats and "social democrats".

I don't support any taxation at all for any reason. Taxation is theft and I do not condone theft even if good may come from it. The goverment is directly responsible for the absurd cost of education via regulation but then you want the goverment to fix the problem they deliberately created.

  16. Lol you may not "support" taxation, but its going to happen regardless...
Clearly we don't agree, you knew that when you posted lol, but I'm glad you stated your opinion. Good talk

  17. I'd volunteer to be on Hillary's firing squad. Really we should just drop her off in Libya and let them take care of how she made them take care of Gaddafi.

  20. To be honest, I only support Bernie (from overseas!) because he is a step in the right direction. Pretty much every developed country on the planet has a welfare system and subsidized health care. The United States seems to be the odd one out.

For me, an ideal society would be a libertarian, unregulated free market economy featuring a guaranteed minimum income for all citizens. That way everyone is on welfare, and no one can bitch about 'those who don't work', because those who are working will be able to combine their income with the GMI / UBI. This is currently being proposed in Canada, as well as Switzerland.

Say you work 40 hours a week. You get $450 over here in New Zealand. Someone living on basic income could be receiving around $300. If this person were also working at the same time, he/she would be receiving $750 a week, while the unemployed individual would only get $300. This would create huge incentives to work. People want to live, they want to travel the world, they want to go to nightclubs.. and you wouldn't be able to do that on basic income, but at least you'll have a roof over your head while you look for jobs, or start a business, or go to college.

The health sector could remain private and competitive.. only difference being that with a basic income, people will actually have money to pay their medical bills, and if they want to see a better doctor, they can either save up, or just make an effort to earn more money.

Income tax and sales tax would be the same for rich and poor. Ideally, there should be greater taxes on vices like gambling, alcohol, marijuana, etc. Marijuana should be allowed to flourish into a gold rush, a massive industry, with minimum regulation, but high taxation nonetheless.

Of course, basic income in the United States would be a pipe dream, since it doesn't even have a welfare system to begin with. This is why I support Bernie Sanders, so that they can catch up to the European countries for once.
