Honestly it was so, so. She had some embarrassing parts IMO. She was really rocky in spots and came across like she was at a roast. Not the worst comedian they've had there. What shocked me is the speech Teflon Don gave. He brought down the house. It was pretty good. I wish there was a good highlight video I could trust but here's the whole thing.
Oh, the vast majority of the speech was the usual Trump trashing, we've heard those jokes a million times over the last year. I was far more interested in the conclusion, where she points out the massive industry and profit behind selling Trump-hate. 18:34 "What I think no one in this room wants to admit is that Trump has helped all of you..." Reminded me of the warning of the military industrial complex. I see a lot of Americans - particularly on the American left - who have been completely sold by this monetary plan, and eagerly buy into the hatred, for it's own sake. This in turn drives the division we see between common citizens, and the end result is undeniably damaging for the population. Her warning should be heeded, particularly by the far-left Colbertian elements of American politics, I think.
One of the funniest things about the left is since Obama they've been talked into war. Where is the anti war party now?
Good question. It seems when the military industrial complex shoves enough money in your face and Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and GE advertises on all the MSM networks, then the gravity of the situation becomes clear. I hope you paid your income taxes last month.
She's being hypocritical. It's true Trump helps sell newspapers and books but he also is the source of this comedian's material. She should have said "Trump helps all of us" instead of "helps all of you." She's making her paycheck by profiting off of Trump bashing, same as the media.
I'll tell you a bit of the actual story behind the media and what's really going on that nobody likes to talk about. Most tv stations and large print media companies are on the verge of going broke these days. The only thing keeping them afloat since the internet is money from elections every two years. All of the profit currently made by any large media company is split between that and large corporate advertisers. It's getting so bad that many news programs will cover stories about commercial products reporting them as if they are news. You'll see this almost nightly. You think they're doing a story on starbucks or some new sex robot doll that is coming out because it's news and it's so interesting to everyone? No, they're reporting on these commercial entities favorably or unfavorably because someone paid them to do so. It's called a native ad. You think that the recent story on contaminates in bathroom hand blowers was put out because it's so interesting and good news or is it because the paper towel companies paid for that story? If you want to break down who are the largest corporate advertisers the #1 is big pharma. So the two entities that support all of large print media and TV these days are election coverage contributions and big pharma. Trump actually bucked that trend. He paid almost no money to large print media and TV to promote him. Nobody has ever done that before and he won. Big media can't have that. They actually need the money that elections contribute, especially the presidential election to stay profitable. You can look it up. Media companies have meetings and brag about how much money they make from elections. Every time you see one of those softball interviews with a candidate it was paid for along with all the attack commercials. They simply can't have this trend continue. They can't have people winning huge national elections without paying the media their fair share. There's other reasons but this is a big reason why they're so against Trump. It's also a big reason you won't hear much objective reporting on Big Pharma.
One reason social media is being attacked by TV and print media is TV and print found out how much of that election money that facebook and google are "stealing" from them. That election money is theirs as far as NBC,CBC,CNN,FOX, ect are concerned.
The media simply cannot be objective because of who supports them. They have no independence unless they want to go out of business.
So true man. Youtube is the advertisers next target. Lots of channels getting deleted because their advertisers don't agree with them. https://hightimes.com/news/youtube-remains-silent-weed-pages-purged/
