Why I love Old School Hip Hop

  1. It seems that every old school song has so much more intellect and thought put into it than modern rap. Sampling in beats was so much better back then, as well. Producers would dig through crates of vinyl and find the most obscure jazz record and make a dope beat from it. Lyrics actually had some meaning to them as well, when i listen to a hip hop song i study the lyrics like a bible. Some of the most clever, thought provoking lyrics ive ever heard have come from artists such as Nas and Big L.

  2. Not trying to be a jerk, but, it's not like we don't already know lol. Basically telling the obvious to many hip hop heads on this forum.

  3. oh so you knew these were the reasons that i personally liked hip hop? this is an opinion page, this is why i like the music, other people like the music for different reasons and i encourage them to make a post about it and say why THEY like it.

  4. I prefer Old school hip-hop too. This is just a generalization but I think hip-hop artists had a wider variety of influences back then, thus, making it more interesting.

  5. thats not true....but old school is great. 90's was the best era.....buckwild is just a hell of a producer.
