why i love hockey... I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH AT LEAST THE 1ST VIDEO... possibly the worst sports injury ever... edit: i only posted the 1st video because of people underrating the physicality of hockey not because i like to see people get their interior artery cut open by a skate. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dT4PenDwiPo"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dT4PenDwiPo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> the most recent cheapshot.... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FOdGMaaV-8A"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FOdGMaaV-8A" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> this is my favorite fight short tho... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YGo3ANHxilI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YGo3ANHxilI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> this is probably the most fights in one game... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/N1-25s4uwFQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/N1-25s4uwFQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> and this is the athleticism and coordination part... i know this guy that loves hockey. when we first met he called me a loser. now we're pretty good friends. funny hockey fans.
just so you all know, the dude that swung his stick got either 25 or 50 game suspension, i can't remember which.
25 games, and I think he should just been out for the rest of the season. Canadaian, here, so you're damn right i'm a hockey fan. Montreal Canadiens is my team, next to Canada that is. The reason I like hockey so much is Salt Lake City, 2002, and the last 3 World Juniors . Btw, any americans who are forgetting. . . In Salt Lake, in 2002, both Men and Women Canadian hockey teams brought home teh Gold, against American teams, in America. Sry to gloat, just the whole USA Women's team walking on the Canadian flag disgusts me to this day. Also check out this vid. It's the Edmonton Oilers fans signing Oh Canada, in response to the Anaheim fans booing the Canadian national anthem. Just as I was getting over the blatant disrespect at Salt Lake, and our world Juniors being tops 3 years running, the Anaheim fans show some real calss an boo the canadian Nation Anthem. Sorry to be hatin, but I can say I feel more strongly about nothing than my pride for Canada, especially in hockey, and when our neighbors and friends betray us like that, it's just too much. http://youtube.com/watch?v=meLpuF9UMvk
25 games is pretty much the rest of the season. if it isnt oh well. there are players out there that deserve suspensions and never get them. if he would have been actually hurt instead of laying on the ground, rolling around, and acting it up then sure more games would be justified
i am a die hard ranger fan... and no way should malik's goal be number one. How isn't ovechkin's or datsyuk's number one? Either way its great to see other people enjoying hockey, and even enjoying the more rough style of play... To the real hockey fans, who saw wat jordin tootoo did to robidas? I use to be a huge fan of tootoo's style, but that was just completely over board. i think he should get a longer suspension then 5 games.
tootoo is a thug so i expected that much from him. as for 5 games i would have given him 10. thats just a cheap punch after a solid hit. if he would have just skated back into the play after he leveled him instead of throwing the punch that would have been a great play on his part
+rep on the vids man. I agree hockey is the greatest sport int eh world. Big game tonight Leafs and Devils, GO LEAFS GO!!!!!! And regarding tootoo's KO punch, I don't think its as bad as Simon's stick incident. Its pretty much and instinct to throw a punch when you turn around to see a guy rushing at you. If he didn't have his glove on it would have been clean IMO, but still a nice shot!
That first video isnt even entertainment...It's just plain sickening. The third one, though, where the guy gets off one punch- That was pretty good. The refs didnt really do anything to stop them from fighting though- Im unfamiliar with the rules of hockey, are they allowed to fight?
No, when you get into a fight you get at least a penalty...you can be suspended from games or even the whole season. Fuck the leafs... GO SENATORS!!!
Well, there's a chance that the 25 games is going ot run into next season, and who wants that. Ley bygones be bygones, I think the NYI will be gone in hte first round. Give it up leafs and sens fans, cheer for a team with grace, les candiens.
how can u say fighting is not legal??? To answer ur question yes fighting is legal. Each player who drops the gloves gets a five minute penalty and thats it. Fighting is very safe in hockey actually. theres such a thing as fighting etiquette. If a player falls 97% of the time the guy on top stops throwing punches. Every once and a while tho people get carried away and throw punches when their opponent is on the ice. Those players are scum. Thats why hockey is the best sport, if a player crosses the line its easy to send him a message. if a guy makes a run at ur teams best player, chances are he's gunna have to fight to stick up for himself. Gotta love it Fuck the devils!
i agree... o yeah my youth hockey coach (Neil Henderson) is on USA Hockey magazine this month, the Ft. Dupont ice hockey club in southeast D.C.
