Why I am a medical grower

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by clinton, Apr 7, 2007.

  1. I started growing for myself, but as I met other who were as ill or sicker than I, I began taking on paitents who cant grow for themselves. The following is from a thread on OregonGreenFree.com where I am an active member. My friend Andy wrote this about one of his paitents. OGF members just donated a large amount of AAA+ meds to be made into tinctures for the very ill. It speaks for itself.

My paitent and friend, Jessa, has moved into what is likely the last stages of her fight. I do not think it will be long. Please allow me to describe one of the people OGF has helped with its generosity...

Jessa is a brilliant soul who only wanted to sing, dance, love and help. She started off life in a circumstance that she found unsuitible to her, and worked very hard to make her life what it truly should be, not what society forced upon her. She could have been very angry at her circumstance, yet she chose to ignore what many would have allowed or even insisted she cling to or express--negative, hurtful feelings--and instead, she insisted on making her life one that focused on helping people live life experiencing unconditional love, connections, and the joys of music and dance. Her true loves--animals, playing the piano, writing music, singing in groups, touching and holding those close to her--these were the joys of life she'd once lost, then regained. She embraced these things like a child would hold a stuffed animal; with a gleeful, giddy joy that infected you with happiness.

Her cancer was diagnosed in September, right after she had just moved into her own place again after years of soul-searching and circumstance. There was no time to even think about survival; it was an instant death-sentence. The question wasn't if, but when. She moved back in with my friends who insisted that she be cared for there in their home; not some antiseptic hospital. I immediately prepped the paperwork for them, and filled in my parts, not even bothering to ask them if she'd go on the program. I instructed them on how to get by any red tape that the medical system may try and throw in their way, and made myself available to her oncologist for consultations.

Time, unfortunately, raced by, and here we are at the end. The end, however, has taken much longer (in cancer-relative terms) than either she, or her doctors, expected. At my instistence, they got a vaporizer, and--while I have no emperical way of showing this--I personally believe that her breathing in of THC and other cannabanoids slowed the progress of the lung cancer, and most assuredly provided her with relief, comfort and what I'm beginning to refer to as "quality of death". OGF, you and your generosity have aided her with your medicine, and have provided her with more comfort and relief than any doctor possibly could.

    But the time has come.

Please, would you all pray for my dear friend, Jessa. She is suffering so. She is being suffocated by death, and is gasping for life.

I ask each of you today... take one deep lungfull of air, and when you exhale, just say "Love you, Jessa..." or simply "Go in peace..."

She's already done that for you.

Thank you, OGF. From Jessa, thank you.

  2. done!

i just hope her passing on isnt painful.

    sorry for the bad news.

    stay strong!

  3. clint I personally see improvement in my system and I've had pleanty of things pop up that seemed to fit the bill for cancerous growth and it only started to reabsorb with around 3 weeks of daily vaporizer use

so it's completely possible imho for thc vocal training and the will to enjoy things for what they are not what they aren't may have her kicking cancers ass in a way no doctor wants to believe

edit - vitamin c and thc in very high doses has been proven to stop cancer growth in mice so you may wanna suggest to that group that the patients keep to a healthy vegan/octo-veggie diet with 1-8 grams (sometimes more...havin' the shits means you've hit your vit c abosrbing limit) of vitamin c in tablet form and lots of thc from baked goods to vaporizing will make all the difference

it's also very helpful to stay active morning runs yoga some mild freeweight lifting

flaxseed oil wheatgerm and lots of nut/green salads with smoked bud (if its needed to keep food down) with less frills (tomato/heavy dressesing/cheeses) helps the body flush

hope some of this helps :)

  4. damn man, clinton i think that you could be a very powerfull positive influence on the world. you seem like the kind of person who could win the nobel peace prize for legalizing marijuana world-wide, and ending several civil and nation wide wars. +rep for sure

  5. Ars moriendi you need more THC in your system. TCH has ben show to be a cancer killer or at least it slows it down. I suggest you start making and using either alchohol or glyccern tincture. I bet there my be instruction on how to do the if not Ill post in detail.

I believe Jenna has lived so long due to the tintures. The bad part it takes a lot more herb to sustain someone who eats the herb or extrat - about 8 ounces per month to control very serius pain.

  6. I can not be singeled out for any honors. I am one of many who are actively promoting th health benifit of MJ. We are a comunity of loving people who grow and use herb. We watch our friends backs.

I think what moved you was the loving kindness bestowed upon people in deep need.

  7. very true in these studies it wasn't from herbal sources and they dosed mice subdermal with enough to keep a person high for days

but to its credit the actual tumors were damn near the size of the mouse being treated (dupot 'cancer' mice that are predisposed to have abnormal growth - theres even a patent on 'em...sick really)

it's sad when something that could grow so freely and cure so easily (at the very least ease pain) is stomped out by scum

then again it may be time to say fuck it you can't stop progress and people NEED this so we're done obeying your bullshit laws

the people do have this right..and all the stem cell pot hatin' fucks can't stop us if we just cut the bullshit and grow the whole world over giving every asshole tryin' to stomp a plant a good old hippy beatdown :D

  8. You said it!! Keep up the good fight. The lies being told about MMJ is sickining when I KNOW CAUSE I SEE IT EVERY DAY - MMJ is good for everyone!! I have a friend Stony Girl - who is a noted breeder, has survived stage 4 cancer for 20 years with MMJ.

  9. This is the note from Jessa'a caregiver. She passed on Sunday.

    clinton

    Dear ones:

Jessa Jos Laake passed on from this world a little before 6 pm today in her wonderfully decorated bed in her caregiver's home in Beaverton.

Both Jessa and those of us caring for her knew her time was coming soon, but we didn't expect quite this soon.

Although she'd been noticing for several weeks that her lung capacity was shrinking, she was doing well and was relatively pain free all day on Friday and most of Saturday.

Saturday night she started feeling very uncomfortably short of breath. By Sunday afternoon around 3 pm she had become so short of breath, she asked 911 to be called so extra oxygen could be administered. Her hospice nurse came to the house shortly after the ambulance and took over her care. About 5pm it was determined that no amount of oxygen could help her lungs that were no longer functioning enough to keep her alive.

With lots of words about the importance of love and much holding of hands, she left us after about an hour of very labored breathing surrounded by the loving care of her nurse and regular caregivers.

  10. My best wishes to Jessa's loved ones through this difficult process of loss.
Clinton, it's admirable what you're doing... the kind of difference you are making in peoples' lives heavily at your own risk.
    +rep.

Jessa's moved on to a better place.

This thread really touched me... and to think that there are so many more just like Jessa, some without the good fortune of having someone like you, Clinton.

  11. May you find the peace you sought in life.

  12. You're a very selfless man and i thank you for efforts to help those that you are able to. It's relieving to know there are still people out there that will help others despite the violence and other bullshit we witness daily. +rep.

  13. There are many people like me who being paitents also help paitents. Outside of Oregon, things seem disjointed. Here we do not worry. We have been fed free with our little gardens. But a lot of litle gardens add up to enough. We have surpluse to share. Its wierd knowing Im giving something so valued by the world in monitary terms - which to me is much more valuable in the releaf it gives the gravely ill.

There are other jenna' in this world.

  14. Thats so sad. :(

  15. Bout to do that with my bong. Just glad to hear they were generous to donate bud to you for to dispense and help make someones passing go easier. :(

  16. You broke my heart. My brother recently died from agent orange induced lung cancer and when I read this post I cried for both of them. This is the hardest post I've ever written I can barely see the keyboard to type.

May jessa find the peace and comfort she craves in the GOD's arms.

  17. A brief note:

Jessa's memorial was yesterday. It was a wonderful, loving tribute to my friend. I was able to mention to a room full of people just how important OGF was to her final care.

There are now about 30 people who are amazed that a group of diaspora from around the state stepped up and helped their dear friend. They are stunned by OGF's generosity. After the services, someone I'd never met before came up to me and said "You know, in this federal climate, I'm really glad and thankful that there are people like you and your OGF that have the balls to do what you do."

We have impressed a lot of folks. And each and every time we act as one caring and compassionate group, we impress even more.

We will win this fight. The only weapons we need are compassion and truth...

  18. clinton, if there were more people like you and your friends in this world, it would truely be a much better place. something has to be done, its now or never. someone has to step up and get what is rigth finally passed(legalize mj)

  19. Gotta +rep clinton simply for this case, and countless others that I'm sure are similar. A close relative of mine survived cancer a few years back (lots of her friends gave her MJ but she said she felt too much nausea to even want to smoke), luckily she survived it anyway.

  20. Clinton people like you and the people you work with give me hope for mankind. I want to help and do what you do. How can i be apart of what you do?
