  1. ok well i was thinking about the new swarm of newbs entering this site and was thinking...most pepole take offense to people who have only like 20 posts and dont have a prob with people who have like a thousand...but i recently found out one of my friends who knows so much about pot and who smokes a whole lot..has an account here but only has like 30 posts...but hes not a newbie...and i have like almost 800 posts yet i dont feel like people "know" who i am...like i dont really feel like im contributing much to this site...but im just woundering like jut because someone has few posts doesnt make em a newb just makes em knew to the site so show a little patience i guess...im not sure if this thread makes much sense becausei just smoked a fat ass joint but igotta go to work now so peace

  2. IMO, youre proof that post count isnt everything. plenty of "noobs" spam the shit out of things and have a high post count. people who know alot about bud still start at zero posts aswell, so just read the posts before you "judge" someone.

  3. Yea what he said. It would just straight out be better to not judge someone at all, and just read what he/she says in a post.

  4. Usally people don't get flamed on when they actully know what they are talking about. Post don't mean shit except how active you your are.

  5. most people get irritated because we see that post once a week.

    example:

    "how much do you smoke?"

i cannot STAND posts like that. i see posts repeat, repeat, and repeat. no one bothers to search. yes...searching isn't always accurate. but searching would be more accurate if there wasn't a sea of shitty posts to sift through. hmm, where does that sea of shitty posts come from? newbs. it's a vicious cycle that probably will never end. it happens on every message board. and people who get irritated such as myself will always be there. it's good that you notice this though.

  6. right on...i can care less how much others smoke or what they think the worst drug is or what movie you're watching right now or.........the list goes on

but at the same time, who wants to search and participate in posts that are 2 years old.

  7. I agree with what I could understand.

  10. when you use the search button and post on one of those posts that are a few years old this magical thing happens!! it brings it back to the front of the boat! a lot of times im not using grasscity as a place to go to, to find info (when i need to i come here first though..) i use grasscity as a place i can come to just to hang out and talk to people about whatever..

and as far as looking at someones post count to consider them reputable(sp?) thats bs.. 99% of the time i dont even look at peoples post count... i just look at their name to see who said what..

  11. i think people who start threads about post counts are newbs..haha. Peace

  12. we live in a pre-judgemental world, where first impressions seem to be everything

  13. it also happens on every forum.

  14. theres a fine line to me where it makes sense to bring old posts back up again... like i have no problem with that except if you want to address something that was typed by someone 2 years ago, who quite likely doesnt even still check the boards, then whats the point? I think if someone searches and finds related threads that have a decent amount of activity within the last, say, 6 months, then its a solid idea to go on that post, but if theres been nothing for more than that amount of time one might as well start a fresh thread that is as closely focused on what you want it to be as possible. Like if I had some specific question about cleaning glass or something, and i found some cleaning glass thread with 3 pages of posts, there are a good portion of people who will read the first post or first few posts and decide based on that whether to read the rest. You see what I'm sayin? Its all about discretion, but I agree that it is important to do a search first and then decide what to do.

  15. Judging is human nature. But I must say GC people judge far less than any other board I've been on.

Sir SAL, I see your point but at the same time, I actually like going back and reading posts from 2 years ago. It helps you get to know people. Posting in those threads kinda brings the past back to life.

Also I am still very new to this board. I have learned so much about pot since I've been here. I have a ton of posts for the amount of time I have been here. But in my regard it should tell people some things about me. Like: I talk a lot; I am happy to be here; I truly feel at home with this group of people... Post counts mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I never even look at that unless someone talks about it.

  16. I quite like thread necromancy...

    btw *tackles STD...*
