why do my j's come out so shitty?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by KushSmokaa, Feb 4, 2011.

  1. i just rolled a j and it was probably my 3rd one but i used Ez Wider Double Wide so i knew it wasnt going to be easy since i wasnt using alot of bud and decided not to tear it in half but anyway.

i dont think the size of the paper made a difference because my problem is actually tucking it in and creasing it.

after i put the weed in and shape it, when im trying to actually roll it up i cant get the paper tucked in and resort to just rolling it without tucking, kind of folding it over then rolling that. which causes like an extra layer on my j if you get what im saying...i want smooth j's and im worried that practice wont do anything because its like a problem with the steady - ness of my hand...help.

also im aware there is a how to roll sticky but that wont help me on how to tuck it in...uh sorry im just kind pissed that i cant roll.

  2. practice.....i used to be terrible at rolling....after you keep doing it it becomes second nature.

  3. I used to be a real crappy roller, getting really uneven burns and my weed even fell out. Now I can roll cones no prob and I just started rolling joints like three months ago. I think that you should roll the fatties by hand. Mostly just make sure that your weed is ground up and it's rolled really tightly.

    Happy toking

  4. ya but it seems like im to shaky and not able to roll. is everyone like shaky at first, and when i was trying to roll it my weed kinda fell out and i had to put it in when i was finished.

so im not sure will i eventually get it?

  5. Yeah it was super awkward when I first started. You get more control and figure out where to hold it and stuff over time

  6. It takes practice, don't worry about it, just keep on rollin and they'll come out purty one day.

  7. Take your time mate... I can twist up a joint in about two minutes but if I want it to be flawless I'll take 7-8. I'm best at rolling rillos but I don't blaze any more... it's funny people hit me up just so I can twist up blunts for them *sigh* many high times that were had.

  8. You don't have enough experience to roll good ones. Practice is key.

  9. A grinder works wonders. I can't roll what so ever unless my bud is evenly ground.

  10. ya dude this is kinda off topic but ive seen some of your post and why dont you blaze anymore?

  11. Get a roller.

and a early 'Fuck off' to all the elitists that think people who use rollers are "new". Rollers are easy, fast, and cheap, and can do any type of J you want if you know how to use it. I roll by hand if I have time or if im in the mood, but if I just want to smoke a J, rollers are king.

  12. Or another good way to do it with out a roller is to get a colored pencil and roll the paper around it, take it off, insert roach, fill with bud, and then get high.

  13. thing with rollers, i feel that part of smoking a J is traditional weed style lol.

i think of rolling as more of an art, and i roll like its an art. lmao i guess its just 10x better knowing that you just rolled a nice one :D

and some tips, lol well i love to roll cones. so i place the bud in the paper, but with a cone shape. so i put it fatter towards the top of the J, by my left hand. i then make sure its not as fat as it gets to the other end, so it will have a cone shape.

also, rolling is only done nicely when yuou actually know what to do with your fingers.

i dont think many people learn this when first rolling, its just a thing that you learn from experience.

anyway, you tuck the bud with the paper with your thumb, you actually "roll"
the tucked weed over with your index fingers behind the J. tuck with thumbs, roll with index lol.

oh, and some other tips lol.

dont stuff the paper full of bud. ya know a fattie is a fat joint, not a joint that you cant even lick shut because there's too much bud.

and, when tucking might sure its snug but you dont want to press too hard with your thumbs, you need to be able to hit it. if your rolls were all shitty and loose, and you tuck with thumb roll with index, and its now too tight, just dont tuck so hard.

id make a vid, but theres like millions out there.

also, i twist the front end of my papers so its a nice little boat, lol if you watch wiz khalifa teaching you how to roll on youtube, just do that but i dont use the roach and shit. just that is a nice little trick :D

also, might i say, you cant really go wrong. my Js are the best, no doubt. always, 100% hittable, good hits, dont fall apart, aint lose, and their cones. lol my point is this way is the best way to roll. its not the best, its the only.

when we go to parties, i bust out the papers, someone busts out a sack and they all crowd around to learn a tip or two from the Master(me :))

actually, ill make a video on valentines day when i get my new HTC Thunderbolt. 8 megapixel camera FTW

  14. do you lick it and seal it around the pencil and then insert the roach then put the bud in, so its kind of the same concept if you were to empty a cig then fill it.

like you have an empty tube ready to be filled and smoked?

  15. Tuck and roll my man (repetitively). As u get better u'll figure out the fat joints are the easiest. Pinners require somethin extra .... more bud

  16. lack of experience....:smoke:

  17. 3 joints in and you're worried? If by your 30th you still have problems you might want to reconsider a new method but I'd say you're good for now. :smoke:

  18. im in the same boat as you.. my hand are shakey, i always have to roll over something to catch what falls out due to the shakey hands .. and i have to do the folding thing as well.... but my friend/dealer told me to do it like that for now if i cant tuck it yet.... most of the time mine come out fine tho with the occational uneven burn

  19. It's all in the practice, it's fine to do the folds until you can get the tucks right. If you really want to get better at rolling joints, don't let yourself smoke out of anything else for a short amount of time, and you'll see an improvement.

  20. just practice my man. i was on a forced t-break from my parents a couple years ago so i bought a couple packs of paper and rolling tobacco, i rolled joint after joint after joint and just practiced till i was good. now im the designated roller for the group :smoke:
