I noticed a lot of these players were even living in Vegas! Why is it such a big deal these people cannot play online when they could just play live, unless some sort of scam is going on.
My friend told me it's because online games are so much faster. More games means more potential for profit. Playing in real life sucks. You have to dress up and look presentable. You can't even play in the nude at your own house while eating fruit loops.
As a person who made a living on online poker, it is simple. You can't grind in real life. Real life 1 table. Online, I would play on 12 tables, typically, at once. All of them the $1-$2 tables. I could grind those 12 tables out for ~5-6 hours a day and make ~$400... on an optimal day if the cards fell right etc. But usually I came out making ~$250 in 5-6 hours. Making $250 would take significantly longer in real life and I would have to leave and go to a casino to do it. Constant action on 12 tables. Now I go to a casino once, maybe twice a month on Friday and play for nearly 48 hours and I will only make around $1,500.

You barely make that in a month on minimum wage
I have more appreciation for the word "grind" now. 6 hours of play for $250 is a grind. Maybe I'm just partial to sports betting but I could make $250 in a couple hours at the books.
But it isn't reliable money. Like, I have to hope that people show up to play when I end up going and I need to hope that like ~20 people will run through that one table. Online, I knew there was 1000000 people playing. lol I will sit at one table for ~6 hours at a time before taking a break. But that isn't ideal. You can't bet every day and be consistent. I was making ~$1600 a week grinding for 24-35 hours a week. If I decided to become a hermit I could make around 4k in a week, but that is hell. But one of my friends, who was hit harder, was making ~3k a week doing 20 tables at a time. I remember we would sit at different tables at a casino (before he joined the AF) and we would grind it out, he would be up ~$400 in maybe 2 hours and I would only be up maybe $150. lol. He is superior to me in money games but I always beat him in tournaments.
Live you can make 60 an hour with like 20 grand. The games aren't always good. Online you can play sng husng you an do that live or multitable
Yeah I tried to dump 50 dollars with my card on online poker but they didn't accept it so I gave u.. probably a good thing because I know I would be playing that A LOT.
I really miss the online poker it's a badass way to rack up cash if you're good at it and have the time. Fuck the government!
are there any poker sites that use real currency? i understand its illegal here but if the site is based out of the country is that still illegal?
Online poker was made illegal on the infamous 'Black Friday'. The Black Friday Timeline: One Year Without Online Poker | PokerNews United States v. Scheinberg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It ruined many lives.
i would say the grind and the fact you don't have to look at the opponent when you're playing. i know people that still play, mostly overseas sites.
