I realize that not everyone has the greatest grammar and spelling, but for gods sake at least TRY. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. I'm reading some of these comments and the people who are arguing for weed have terrible spelling. Yeah it's the internet but if your are trying to persuade someone, try to look like you are intelligent. Also all these people saying "I don't do drugs, i smoke weed" STFU.STFU.STFU. Cannabis is a plant, that has many chemical compounds in it that when absorbed into the body, affects the normal functions of the human body. END OF STORY. Cannabis is a drug, so stop saying it's not. Of course saying it is a drug may have a negative connotation to many people. Lets refrain from lying just because we are worried about what others think of our choices of substance. Ok. i feel better.
Here's a solution, think about all of the bad kids throughout your grade-school, bundle them up all together, and THROW them on the internet. See, don't you feel just a little bad? Meh. Probably not, but what can you do? Most people didn't have the proper at-home support that you probably did, encouraging you to finish your school work.
So English isn't my first language, but wouldn't the grammatically correct way of writing the title be, "Why can't everyone write properly?"
ya i know what you mean i am not a spelling/grammar snob i don't care if people get everything exactly correct but yunno sorta try would be nice and obviously some people are not even doing that. I have dyslexia and my spelling sucks but i at least make an effort
I did say my grammer wasn't perfect in my first post. My point being if you are trying to advocate something, try to present yourself properly.
It's actually, "Why can't everyone write properly?" Hahahahahahahaackkgh--... I'm choking on the irony.

you're* Lol, sorry I had to. I do understand what you mean, though. I understand that some people just aren't very good at spelling or grammar, and some people just type the way they speak and it doesn't always come out grammatically correct. But there's a clear difference between that, and someone typing a whole paragraph using texting kinda speech. "Yo so i went 2 da mall on wendsday n dis dood was all up n my shitt like 'y u tockin to my gurl" n i wuz like 'ima bust a cap in yo azz homie' n he wuz al like 'nuh uh' n i was all liek 'yuh huh' n then he punch me in da face n i wuz liek 'o no u dint' n he was leik 'o yes i did' n den we both went n got icecream" That kinda shit is not okay! Or when people type a whole page long wall of text using NO periods or paragraphs and they act like I'm the asshole when I say "I can't read that at all..." But oh well, it's just one of those things that we'll always encounter on the internet. And I'm sure it's only going to get worse from here on out.
Lol It's gotta be some kind of "rule of the internet" that if you ever post something complaining about the grammar and spelling of others, your own grammar and spelling will be picked apart immediately.
I think your thread was fucked from the second it was about grammar, sorry sir. I do think it was more intended to highlight the need for proper image in marijuana legalization, I think anyway. For this, I agree. I think most people, as junkiedays pointed out, type like they talk. As long as it's not texting type, whatever. I try to spend a little extra time on places like grasscity, where you have the opportunity to review what you type. Other places like instant chats, again, whatever. I'm far from perfect and get pissed off by "grammar Nazi's" more than grammar fuck ups.
lol i said i wasn't PERFECT. I know all of it probably wasn't correct, and i knew it would happen. But as JD said there is a clear difference between an honest mistake and saying "ancle" instead of "ankle" 10 times.
