I was looking for a new piece, that was cheap & I could add to my collection. I set my eyes on a Black Leaf ice bong. When I went to ship it to Iowa it said it wont ship to my state. So I tried to ship a pipe I like too & same thing happened. I ended up buying from a different website. What is the law on having bongs shipped to iowa?
Unfortunately Iowa and Pennsylvania are the two states that consider pipes and waterpipes drugs paraphernalia right away even if they've never been used. Unlike in other states where it's technically a tobacco pipe and doesn't become drug paraphernalia until its actually been used. That's probably why they won't ship to you because once they do they'll be fined and/or imprisoned. It's what happened to Tommy Chong when he was selling pipes. Only way to get a pipe is to go out of state where the laws are different. Hope this helps!
You don't know what you're talking about. In both PA and Iowa glass pipes (unused, that is) are totally legal provided they are sold for tobacco purposes. There have been some problems in the past with overzealous enforcement of this law as was the case with Operation Pipe Dreams. Thus some companies will refrain from shipping to Iowa and PA (along with other states, occasionally) because they know there has been a history of negative repercussions from doing so. A company isn't going to get in any trouble shipping to PA or Iowa, and plenty of companies will do so. Tommy Chong got busted because he was selling pipes wholesale and was more or less entrapped by law enforcement agencies. But you are completely wrong when you say that PA and Iowa "consider pipes and waterpipes drugs paraphernalia right away even if they've never been used." In both of these states there are hundreds of headshops selling thousands of glass pipes, all entirely legally. For example the immensely popular glass brand "illadelph" is based out of Philadelphia, PA. I really fucking wish people would make sure they know their shit before they go trying to give advice to others.

Yea actually that is right. I talked to some dudes that owned the smoke shop and they said the cops can bust their store anytime they want to because its illegal to sell pieces even if they arent used. My friend got his sheldon black taken the first week of school last year but I thought it was of him being stupid and telling everyone but its against the law in iowa
I think the cops in my college town are just dicks...Theyre actually able to make different laws from the state since we're a "college town" and they have had alot of crime (mainly drugs, underage though, etc...not like shooting/murder) but you know if a small city goes from 20k something people and triple during school semester they're going to try their hardest to bust drugs and alcohol just because they can bust college kids easier.
