There's a perfectly reasonable explanation why cannabis is illegal. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G4HxrVx20A]South Park - Mr. Mackey - YouTube[/ame]
In all seriousness, the OP's link is on point. "Marijuana laws are not, and have never been based on any kind of scientific data regarding physical or mental health."
in B4 Pandora..!11!!1 But seriously, Hemp and Cannabis are undoubtedly the greatest natural resources on the planet. They offer a wide variety of industrial and medicinal benefits. It's no secret that big industries (paper, timber, oil, big pharma) would be obliterated, were hemp and cannabis legalized. Which is the reason they are illegal in the first place. ; ) Thanks for the link Tripace.
Senator Moves To Legalize Cannabis Production For Hemp - Forbes "U.S. Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon proposed an amendment to the Farm Bill that would exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marijuana, allowing American farmers to grow the plant legally for the first time since 1957." Of course it was rejected by 'America's representatives'. "Language supporting hemp has not reached the floor of the Senate or the House of Representatives for a vote since the 1950s."
^ I read the hemp product market in the U.S. is over $400 million and growing. Plus the potential for fuel. I say real jobs are better than DEA, FBI, and CIA jobs any day of the week.
Are there any studies on whether hemp or oil is more economically feasible? I've been reading interesting things about industrial uses for hem, but have been unable to verify the claim that hemp is more economic than oil and coal. Good video...got me thinking. over 50% of Americans believe it should be legal. It's illegal because they go to the voting polls and check an R, which means I block and filibuster any liberal cannabis law regardless of science or reason, or a D, which means I'll say I want to legalize when running but my top donors and lobbyists will advise me to be against it after the election.
