I have placed 4 seeds into a clean glass of water and set the cup in a dark area where it isn't too cold. I have had success with this method two times before but i have tried 3 more times after and none have germinated. after about 3 days of being in the water i notice a whiteish film on the top of the water that im not sure what it is. I know my seeds are good and capable of being germinated, i must be doing something wrong.
I wouldn't leave them in there 3 days. I soak for 24 hours then give them a light tap if they sink I put them inbetween two pieces of damp paper towel. Sometimes seeds can go bad from not being stored properly as well.
