What you fail to mention in your synopsis of the US/Israeli relationship is the billions in aid that the US gives to the welfare state of Israel every year. These billions have strings attached in that Israel has to use this money to purchase goods from US companies. There is no other label to put on this only - welfare. Israel is an artificial state. Its people are living in a bubble of sorts which is funded by the US taxpayers. It has managed to become the power it is from having the US pump it up with weapons and $$$.
