Why are my plants doing this?

  1. This is my first time growing and I have done some research. But I think this is a fungus. Am I keeping it too humid? 70-75% humidity and like 75 degrees. Light is approx 18 inches away 20231104_140818.jpg 20231104_140812.jpg 20231104_140842.jpg 20231104_140844.jpg

  2. Look at the underside of the leaves with a jewelers loop for spider mites.

  3. Yeah, first make sure there are no pests. If there are no pests let us know what medium your growing in and what your feeding with. Seedlings looking pretty good otherwise. I'd raise temps to 78-80 if you can and run humidity 60-70%.

  4. I just checked for mites with my loop and I didn't see any.

  5. I'm growing in fox farm and feeding with the flora series. I'll do that with temp and humidity for sure. It looks like it's only on old growth

Awesome. Yeah looks like old growth. Is it ocean forest? If it’s ocean there is plenty of food in there for that plant size. I’d just use r/o water with 1ml cal-mag, 3ml FF big bloom, 2ml full power, and some great white powder per gallon. I’d add 1ml trinity or some form of carbohydrate once of every couple of weeks to help boost microbe population as well. Thats basically a super low ec tea to give them a little boost each water and help the soil make more available food. I’d water to runoff every 3-4 days and shorten that as they grow. I’d start adding your grow food to the above mix once they start to look hungry after that or transplant to a bigger pot which will give them more food too. I’d recommend using like a pure blend pro grow, which will be less salty and is derived from more plant based sources vs minerals. Keep your pH between 6.3-6.8. If your in happy frog or something with less food, I would increase the cal mag and big bloom a little and start using the liquid grow food sooner.

  7. That's good news! I personally wouldn't worry about it, unless you start to see it on your true leaves.

  8. Thank you very much, I'll definitely try these things out

  9. Soooooo this is tonight, does this look more like light stress to you guys?

  10. I would lay off the nutes for a feeding or 2. Your plants look fine, but outer discoloring always points to nute burn IMO. Anything Fox Farm is pretty hot from the start. You don't normally need to start feeding until about 4 to 6 weeks in. Best of luck!

  12. I would back your light off a little aswell. The two often go hand and hand and will show similar problems.

  13. I have an evo 8 ac infinity ion 730w at setting 4 at 18 inches. Would you say that's too high?

  14. Sorry bud, I'm not familiar with that light. I don't think you need to make a drastic change. Lay off the nutes and raise your lights a couple inches and then let us evaluate in a week.

  15. Yo homie, sorry for the late reply, busy ass week! Definitely not light stress in my opinion, except for the fact that with good light plants want more food. Look up the companies light chart, you want to be around 300ppfd. And they need food that’s why lower leaves are showing signs. They look great, just hungry. Assuming your feeding with 6.3-6.8 pH with runoff each water, The question is are they hungry from lockout from using GH mineral based fertilizers or is it from not using enough of them. How did it go when you backed off of feeding and just used water? Can’t remember if your using R/O water? I would use r/o water if you have hard water. They look like they want a solid water with 15-20% runoff and like 3ml/gal botanicare calmag, 2ml liquid karma or full power, with 5ml of FF big bloom. Again, I’d start adding pure blend pro grow at 3-4ml/gal once they get bigger. If you transplant to a new pot of soil though don’t use the grow for the first 2-3 weeks until they look hungry again, like they do now. That’s what I would do if I saw those plants in my rooms. GH is ok, but there are better options for soil in my opinion and may very well be causing your issues. I’d also add a dash of great white and some form of carb like trinity to help the soil feed the plant. Hope that helps, or you already got it figured out.

  16. as some have said, I would back that light up say 28 to 32 inches at 60% power and only feed RO and ph'd water to 6.5. No nutes for a few weeks. That plant should not need nutes for a month at least. My first impression was light toxicity fwiw.
