Because of humanity, racism was a big part of our history believe it or not. If you were not white in the early 1900's you were mistreated and even hated. They had a name for every nationality, even white's were called yankee's. Also yes, immigrants work twice as hard as any worker out there for half the pay. Very hard working people.

not only jobs but their overall lack of respect for our country by refusing to learn the language. expecting us to cater to them and learn their language instead.
All the immigrants i know have learnt english there's nothing wrong with people from another country or just people who have a different skin color
So All this for a lack of communication. The purpuse is most people don't tend to talk two languages because its hard for people to learn two languages. Put yourself in there shoes and try to read their.language? Shit is hard man! LOL.
Most immigrants learn basic English, enough to live life normally. It's just that they typically have such close-knit and extensive family bonds that they're practically already complete. And they stick with what's familiar to them.. it's a safety net in a screwed up place. I can't blame them for that. As for hard workers, yes for the most part - but there are a fair number which only do enough to get by, although they'll do it easily enough without much negativity about it. This is all just from my experience at a Walmart full of an eclectic population Also, they respect the US more than most of the Americans that I know
I don't hate anybody, most of my friends are not even my nationality. It's 2012, we have a stable economy and it's only growing... can we just stop the hate already?
I have no idea lol, but if you're going to hate some one have a legitimate reason... you should not hate because of how some one is born. Just saying.
I don't understand all of this hate either. Sure it can be frusterating that immigrants are getting most of the jobs but if you put yourself in their shoes you'd probably do the same thing. Therefore how can you hate on 'em?
yea well if i wanted to move to another country bad enough i would learn enough to get by. then once there i would try to pick it up even more. there is one group in particular i am thinking about it seems like people from all over the world dont have trouble learning English as much as they do. of course if i name this group i'll be mistaken as being racist when im not. i actually have a few friend's from that particular background who aren't complete shit.
also if they're elderly that's different. i dont expect grandma to learn the language. but if you're young then you should be smart enough to learn, unless of course you're lazy when it comes to knowledge. im a college student so im not looking for a crazy full time job. in fact most of the jobs i apply for are sales reps/costumer service. and there is nothing i hate more than going somewhere i applied at to be greeted by their newest employee who i cant even fuckin understand and who has to ask some who is bi-lingual what i just asked them.
By illegal immigrants, I assume you're talking about the ones from Mexico, right? Taking ethnicity out of the question (because I'm above racism), I dislike illegal immigrants because: -They don't pay taxes like the rest of us -They don't suffer any consequences when they commit crimes such as driving without a license (they could even commit manslaughter and get away with it) -This country is overpopulated, introducing illegal immigrants only makes this worse -Overpopulation leads to: housing problems, congestion in the cities (i.e. overcrowding in building, higher traffic, ect.) -Lots of illegal immigrants come here solely to cause crime, i.e. the gangmembers / drug trafficking (hardcore stuff, like coke) -Not speaking the national language, English -The whole "taking our jobs" thing Don't get me wrong, I feel sympathetic for those that are simply trying to escape a difficult life, but by coming here illegally, they only make things worse for the rest of us.
also in the 1910s my father's grandparents came here from Germany. they had no issue learning English in order to get a job, get by, and communicate with people.
I don't feel like they should be hated. Unless they are some of the few who don't pay taxes and only come here to make money and move back.
