Why are humans

  1. the only ones that evolved into being intelligent like we are? what was stopping all the other animals from evolving like primates did?

  2. Higher intelligence is not necessarily a "higher" evolution. I mean, the process of evolution is not necessarily aimed at creating intelligence. It just so happened that in our ancestor's circumstances, intelligence was the best thing for survival. In other species', perhaps animal instinct is the best thing.

Humans have a natural tendency to view evolution as always proceeding in the direction of higher intelligence, but I think that's just hubristic.

  3. The bonobos, man!
