ok how about if you look at it from the perspective of the use of capital maybe 6$ per person per game is not very significant, but the aggregate 600 million dollars is being spent on something that doesnt increase the end value of the product. or could be used to increase value in better ways?
I hear what you're saying and don't exactly agree, but I'll play devils advocate here and add that you're only taking into account the cost of airing the commercials and not even considering the production costs. I've always thought advertising was generally aimed at the simple minded, but in all honesty there's a Reese's déjà Vu commercial that has inspired peanut butter cup purchase.
