I think these are the best product on the market? Who else is hip? What do you use? Here is a 10 bucks off link https://store.grovebags.com?ref=4ODFJXF
ok for small loads but are pricy in volume, seems the cannatrol is the winner, over of these smelly sachets
Forgive me for asking as Im new to grove bags, but do they do something that you cant accomplish with jars? Or is the appeal that its a light weight flexible bag? Cheers Os
Looks like they have just within the last day or 2 started redoing their site. Sry I can't find more to post. Most of the links are down. But they naturally allow the curing conditions you want without burping. Are anti static so everything comes out, uv blocking, no smell gets out, easy to move with or send someone off with it and everyone b safe
Over a year now. I’ve bought a bunch and I just don’t want to mess with glass jars. these are so much easier and I don’t care if I drop a couple of lb bags while moving them. I do put humidity pack in the bag - after couple months
I see. Point of sale, not so much for storage. Its the replacement for zip locks. Interesting. Im definitely down with not wanting to drop glass jars either. I use the 6 pack racks of 1/2 gallon glass jars. They are heavy, bulky, and clink a lot. The jars make me feel more like a moonshiner! There was a 2 year period during covid I couldnt find any glass jars. I wish I would have known about those bags then. Cheers Os
I have tried them and they do have a use, but for small loads only ..sorry not in our league, unless you go on holiday and would be good storage for such a journey For us I like the idea of curing weed in uncooked rice for 2-3 weeks ...lol I've yet to try lol
I have 48 1/2 gallon jars and each one has a 60 gram size 62% Boveda humidity pack that lives in it permanently. Same group of jars and packs I've used for most of the last decade. I think in all that time I've lost 4 jars cracked. It is a rare summer harvest like the one past that fills all the jars and leaves me scrambling for a couple more. Off season grows are half that in most cases. Still nothing to sneeze at. Same strength buds as mid summer sets. @Organic sinse Even back 10 years ago collecting that many big half gallon jars was no easy task. You'd find the odd 6 pack of them at Walmart or Ace Hardware. I remember I scored 3 cases at once on vacation to Lone Pine Ca. About 200 miles up state when I spotted them in Gardeners Hardware. BNW
Been using them for almost a year now. I really like them and I do use them for storage. I’d like to use them for my retail packaging as well but that gets pricey when I’m ordering 5k eighth bags a month. I do notice a few details on using them. A) dont pack them full, we go half way. B) make sure your flower is already on that 55-65% moisture level. These bags won’t keep wet flower from molding. C) I still monitor the bags. I don’t really “ burp”, but I do “fluff “ the bags weekly. I use a lot of the one pounders and if you overfill them with really sticky weed then they can compact a bit. D) keep the area that you store these bags at a moderate humidity level. I was told that the moisture inside the bags can get drawn out if the humidity is way lower outside the bag. Overall, I like em. But I don’t think they are fool proof. Better than the 30 one gallon jars I used to use though!
The only place I have ever found the 1/2 gals is at the feed store. In 2020 I went into “just in case mode” and went a little hog wild on my stash, so I was running low. Otherwise, Ive been using the same sets of jars for years. I used to buy these really nice food grade plastic jars with screw on tops at the brew store. They sell bulk honey and that kind of stuff. They were just too expensive at $8 a piece. I also heard so many myths/issues with plastic that I wanted to switch to glass anyway. Cheers Os
As usual Walmart has the best price at $13.97 @ 6 pack Ace Hardware is $18.96 for a case of 6. I've always used glass. Even in the 70s I could see the plastic baggy fogging up with my trichomes. BNW
I have actually met with the fellas who produce GroveBags a few months back. We had a long chat with him. He was really pushing me to start bagging up my homegrowns to give his bags a try. I stick to glass jars but I will give it a shot on my next crop and do a side by side comparison between bag and glass. Personally, I'm not a fan of bags mainly because it is easy for buds to get crushed. From our conversation, he assured me his bags never need to be burped, regardless of cure stage. It has a passive bypass to regulate CO2 and other gas buildups, yet still keeps buds in the 58%-62% RH range. No nitrogen has to be used to preserve quality with these bags either. ' They could be zipped or heat sealed. They are made in the USA but the company is from Canada. If you choose to buy one with paintings and fancy arts, don't worry as they are printed with Soy and Vegan inks. They also do custom branding and logos. They do supply the Legal Market as well as black market. If you are a bigger grower, and need short term curing of big quantities prior to packaging, they do offer bags called; Wickets. The whole purpose of these bags are to skip on long curing process in the facility, and rather keep the cure going until it reaches the hands of the customer. He also did claim that by using their bags, you are actually preserving more terpenes and cannabinoids that would've been lost by using other plastic bags or humidity packs.
I agree with most of what he said. But I have definitely had flower dry out too much in the bags. However this was probably put in the bags a bit to dry, without the residual moisture left in the denser buds and stems being where it should be. I think they work FANTASTIC as long as you get the buds in there at that 60% rh zone. Never needs burping? Maybe, but the bigger the bags, the more product inside. More product, more weight, more compaction. I will still fluff bags up weekly. Sticky icky strains can become one giant mass if not fluffed.
