Who makes beats/instrumentals?

I just started getting into making music. I've got Ableton 8 at the moment but it's pretty complicated, more of a professional production program. After talking to a fellow GC blade i've decided to find a copy of FL Studio to see if it's a bit easier to get started with.

 

Very few good hip hop or rap beats are made without some form of repetitive loop.

 

no idea i use a native instruments maschine drum machine
