never herd of this b4...i could def see myself getting into it tho. but what makes it hip-hop? is it the drums/beat? cause i would proly classify it as electronica or sumthing (never listened to electronica either but i assumed it sounded like this) or are these actual songs with lyrics, but without the vocals?
I think instrumental hip hop shares a lot of instruments and even some melodies with electronica, but electronica is generally less syncopated and more upbeat, so the strong beats are on the 1s and 3s in electronica. With IHH, though, there's more syncopation, and it's more downbeat, on the 2s and 4s. Listen to part of this electronica piece and you'll see what I mean. I like Dr. Dre's production, so sometimes I just like to listen to the instrumental version of Whats the Difference.
