Who is happy they are sick enough to have a canibis card?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by clinton, Apr 6, 2007.

  1. I dont know about you, but I'd rather be in good health and smoke and risk legal consequences, than be sick and in pain and have the card. A lot of people are asking how they can fool the system and get a card. Its not hard to fool the system. Just go to doctors over a time period and complain about symptoms that qualify for a card. Who is kidding who? It sucks to be ill enough to get a card. Who agrees with me?

  2. Yeah, why should I be sick to use cannabis when I use it anyway. The only perk is that I can go up to a cop and blow smoke into his face....THEN it would be worth it.

  3. ...word

  4. i agree 100%. people wanting to take the already diminishing supply of med marijuana, from people who actually need it.

if you wanna get a med card and are not sick, hows about trying to GROW it... some people are too sick to take time to grow thier mj.

  5. I've actually been self medicating for many, many years. I can get by without, I'm not in a lot of pain, or suffer as many I read about that pull on my heart strings. I would love to be legal, this is the only illegal part of my life, really. in my younger years I had a bit of a wild side, but now I don't look for trouble, I generally try to avoid it. I would give up my share of mj in a heart beat for someone that genuinly needed it, if that was required. hell, I'd give em some of mine, I would even seek out people to share with, if it didn't increase my risk of going to prison. I am very optimistic with all the decriminalizing going on over the past decade, but man, sometimes it's real frustrating, I dont' know why it has to take so long for our country to do whats right. so many lives could be significantly improved, but only if the patient decides to be a criminal in this country, it's not right that sick people have to make this choice.

  6. Glaucoma runs in my family, grandma had it, some of her daughters excluding my mom had it... hopefully when im old ill get it... although i doubt i will because i already fix my eyes.

  7. If your happy to be sick enough to get a med card then you probably are not sick enough to really need a med card. If someone asked me this question in person Id probably slap them across the face.

  8. As a leader in a paitent MMJ group - I see how many ways MMJ helps releave pain, seasures, depression etc. The ways it helps goes on and on.

What motivated this thread, was reading posts from people who are not ill - who want a card. Bliz-NATI said it. Why not grow it if your not ill. I have used canibus for 42 years and counting. I have only been legal for a year. I finally got the paper work registered; but I never had a problem in all those years with legal consequences. If I were a healthy person - I would still use MJ. Its good for everyone. It sucks being ill. I know people in the end stages of cancer. I am allergic to narcotics - so when any of my 9 bone diseases kick in - its the herb or nothing. Its not a play thing at all. Its all the difference in increasing the quality of my life.

  9. Yes, it does suck being ill, but whats worse is when people dont take you serious becuase of your age or appearance. Yes im young, and yes I have my rec. but every person out there who thinks this is just another college kid trying to score some legal pot, ide love to slapp you in the face too! Next time you see someone who you may think does not need MMJ becuase they don't LOOK like they need it, remember that you do not have to be physically sick in order to have a doctors rec. Theres many many mental and emotional illiness that cannabis can be theraputic(sp?) for and serve a purpose for.
At first i was angered by your question clinton, becuase i felt it was insulting to us patients, but after reading your thread, i could not agree with you more! Have a great day

  10. Thanks for reading why I posted. Age is no indicator of pain or disease. I know very young looking people who are more messed up than me. I think everyone benifits from the herb. I get eyes rolled at times when I tell someone I am a MMJ paitent. It is just another closed minded or brain washed by the war on drugs idiot.

We need more research in the USA on MMJ medical benifit, but most doctors are afraid to even talk about it.

  11. I'am 60yrs old and a MMP, I've been using marijuana since I was 18. I was foolish enough to start drinking alcohol (a poison) for decades until I developed cirrosis and almost died. Thanks to marijuana and my fear of dying I had no withdrawl symptoms, no rehab, marijuana helped me overcome that and the constant pain and lack of sleep. I haven't had alcohol in 3yrs! My liver is regenerating.I now drink geen tea with Humboldt Medicinal Honey,I now feel like a new HEALTHY man!

  12. I was in an automobile accident a while back [rearended] which resulted bone fractures and mad pains all over my leg and back, and since I had already been a casual mj smoker, made sense to me to get my rec and blaze dozia instead of vicodin. mj is good to relax and for therepeutic effects as well.

  13. i understand the potential offense one would recieve when being questioned about the legitimacy about their medical qualifications. but you must all realize that it is pretty much every non-medical marijuana users, the large majority of users, dream to have access to legal, medical grade pot. it is the best around, and its legal, so why shouldn't these kids, college students, be trying to get a card? it makes perfect sense to me. and the supply will most likely meet the demand, as there is lots of money to be made.

  14. I have a medical recommendation for clinical depression. I could survive without any meds and prescription Celexa worked. I got a med card to replace my prescription because I feel .25 grams in the morning helps my days.

I am not terribly sick and do not need cannabis to survive. I feel it helps in ways but I do use it to chill out also. I know a handful of people who have there cards just because they get cramps every once in awhile and such.

None of us want to offend any of the chronically ill people we just don't like getting from strange dealers and the papers make us feel safer about growing.

  15. im sure all the people out there who have cards and serious illnesses are grateful that theyre allowed to have a remedy, but i dont think theyre super excited that they have bone marrow cancer etc..

    for the non-sick especially

Would you want to have bone marrow cancer etc. just so you can smoke legally?
id rather smoke illegally and be illness-free of coarse.

Im glad im not sick, and dont need the card. there arent any clinics where im from where id need to have a card to obtain quality strains--so a card doesnt have much of a point where im from

  16. MMJ use is a personal choice and is not subject to other people reviews. Even if someone only hurts part of the time, I dont see a problem with them using all the time. With the state of our legal system, and the obvious health benifits of MMJ, I think everyone who can should get a license.

    Canibis is GOOD for you.

  17. This will just put pressure upon or close dispenceries because people who will abuse the system ruins it for legit patients. Why not grow your own?

  18. YES this is the answer. It is easy. A pot, Black Gold soil, plant, and water. Use the sunlight.
