Blades and bladies, About 4.5 months ago I came here hoping to learn. I pulled the cotton out of my ears and shoved it in my mouth. I came to know many of you in the process, and there are so many more that arrive here every day. This note is for you folks just arriving. You may find yourself googling stuff and following hits to other sites, but I can only tell you my experience, and you can make your own judgment. The quantity of information in some of these other places dwarfs our city, but for QUALITY of information, there's no better game in town than our town. And for my money, (which was like 30 beans for a year or something - that's why my name is this color - I ain't anything special) the people here are high on quality - if you'll forgive the obvious pun. I just completed my first grow, and I simply couldn't have succeeded without the people here. After this one, I'll take more of the credit, but for this first harvest, I just couldn't have done it without the city. If you're just arriving and have questions, this is the place you want to be. Everything you could want to know is on a page here somewhere, and I'm here, too - a bit more experienced than when I arrived - standing by to give back. I just want to echo what you said Ock, my wife and I just finished our very first harvest of six lovely ladies. If it weren't for the help here at GC our ladies would not have produced the way they did. Y'all were awesome during our first grow and harvest....Thank you GC!!!! Our six ladies gave us 13.5 oz of some dank love
GC has helped me grow for almost three years now. When I first showed up, I was making 2-3 threads a day in this 'Absolute Beginner' sub forum. I had questions upon questions up questions that I needed answered. From making my own threads, and reading others ... I obtained a lot of information. And now instead of making threads, I'm passing along all the informaiton ive collected fromthe last three years, onto all the new growers who look to GC for their growing advise. Lots of great, nice, experienced people who like to help in any way possible. Quality is superb.
For real. I've gotten some good info out of this site. The journals and the stickies are great. But don't underestimate the supplementation of info on other sites. It can really be useful. However, you do have to make sure if you do research and find something that works for someone on another site has also worked for others and there is a general consensus on it that it is the proper thing to do for your plants. Just my two cents.
I totally, agree, K, and don't think for a second I'd ever suggest someone supplant information with loyalty to a web site In fact, looking back into the history of GC, we see that a lot of the stickies for the standard questions us new folks have are articles that old timers carried over from other sites. I sure am glad they did
