OK... First of all, let me tell you that this is my first soil grow. These 4 Nirvana White Widows are clones from a mother plant I took during my last 3x6 table 72 plant SOG grow along with Original Amnesia. I decided to not run this strain in the SOG anymore due to the issues I had with the WW hermies. I am attempting to just go ahead and flower these out instead of using them for mothers. I'm replacing my mother stock with some fresh C-99 and Master Kush. Setup: Really too simple... 2 Air Cooled 600W HPS vented through chimney 5 Gallon Buckets Basic local potting mix Fox Farm Nutes GB/BB/TB Flower room is a big room with 9 ft ceilings so space is no issue. I have topped and stretched these plants early because they were originally destined to be mothers. I like to stretch my mothers so that I can take longer stem clones. In addition to topping these plants, I have also used LST, and minimal amount of supercropping. Problems: These plants went through some time of being in a hot area while I was doing some work in my veg room. The temps were in the mid to upper 80's on some days that may have had an effect on the issues that I am having now. The leaves on theses plants seem rather pale @ 10 days after switching to 12/12. To attempt to correct this issue I've introduced 1 tbsp of epsom salt the last 2 feedings thinking it was a mag deficiency. My feeding schedule is Feed/Feed/Flush, and I am using the nutes at half strength. If anybody has any answers, feel free to chime in. The extent of my soil grows consist of mother plants in constant vegetative stage. @ any rate, here are some pics from about 10 days after the 12/12 switch. I am definitely open to suggestions on the issues. I'll try to update this thread every few days or so.
I would have suggested heat stress like mine however urs look fine by comparison. My temps went in to the 90s in the summer same leaf coloring but mine curled upwards. I lost 1 girl but the others grew out of it and are now doing fine. so maybe its that. i dont know much about nutes i just give em a bit of tomato feed every second watering. dont want to get into nutes till i try out my buckets at some point. . . anyway hope my 2c helped Happy Growing
Thanks, and yes it did help. I was leaning more toward heat stress. Well now that the weather is much cooler, and the girls have new digs, everything should work out.
glad to have helped from the look of ur room ur gonna be pulling a lot of oz from it when they done and i do like a nice bit of widow just hope it turns out better than my WW/BB it got ya stoned but tasted and smelled like crap!
Much respect to you exclusive soil growers out there... I'm having a tough time with it I got some issues with this grow as you can definitely see from the pics. I can't quite figure it out, but I'm going through my researched trouble shooting list. I did over fert, and tried to correct this by flushing 5 gallons of water through each 5 gallon pot. That would explain the burnt tips, but now why are they curling up? Leaves can't retain moisture, or is this normally what happens to burnt tips after some time? What exactly is the brown formation toward the center of some leaves as seen in the second pic? There is also the issue with the very pale looking leaves. I've never had a grow look this horrible, but am swallowing my pride and posting pics to see if I can get any help from the community. Plants are 5 weeks into 12-12. I am truly hoping that I can salvage this grow... Thanks, everyone... P.S., After flushing, I cut the nutes down to 1/4 strength, and added a 1/4 tsp/Gallon Superthrive, along with 5ML/Gallon of Cal-Mag (First time with the cal-mag) Soil PH is between 6.0, and 6.5, runoff is 6.5, nute solution is de-chlorinated tap water, Fox Farm BB, & TB PH @ 5.7. I know that may be a low PH for the nute solution, but soil and runoff is good. Not to mention that the PH is without adding any buffers. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
