Which strains are best for creative work?

  1. Which strains offer the best effects in terms of creative work?

So far I've found Strawberry Cough to be one of my favorites in terms of doing creative stuff like music.

A friend gave me a Sour Diesel brownie, smoking it was cool, but in edible form it was amazing, eating just 1/5th of the brownie - felt real focused, uplifted, and motivated.

What are your favorite strains for being creative and doing focused work?

  2. Funky Mangifera from Mephisto Genetics. Very well balanced so you can be both creative and motivated. I like it for yardening projects.

  3. Effects vary from person to person, it's really about trial and error. See what works for you. Typically Sativa's offer more energy, which may or may not be conducive to creative work (depends on the work). I would say start sampling sativa dominant strains, maybe 60/40 sativa dominant to begin with, then try a 70/30, 80/20, etc.

  4. I like medium thc strains maybe with a little cbd in them better for this specific purpose. Just enough to expend your spirit, light up and unlock your mind from your daily concerns or self created limitations. Keep the dose lower than what you would normally take. Some indicas like Purple Chitral worked nicely for me. Over potent psychedelic sativas don't really put me in a creative mood, and other sativas hybrid can also be too much of raw energy.
sweedright is right we are all different and react differently to different strains. Have fun!
To be focus I just add a coffee.

  5. Yeah, I can't smoke anything with too much sativa in it....I feel like I chugged 3 pots of coffee. I grow indica dominant (at least 70/30) for that reason. I feel plenty creative with indicas, perhaps because I am very used to them. I can recommend a couple if you grow or want to in the future. Blueberry cheese from barney's farm and Sweet Zensation from sweet seeds. Wonderful Indica dom hybrids, both highly recommended.

  6. I use sativa mostly for yard work and bud trimming, keeps the pain from slowing me down while I'm out clearing brush while filing my head with 99 crazy ideas for every decent one (its holding onto and sorting out that one good idea thats the trick for me). Yet still not so zoned out I won't notice a Frisbee or a rock in time to not tag it with the mower. I also wouldn't be me if I didn't admit that I have run at least 3 separate time trials on 400 gram (on the branch) sections of bud, and I generally tend to trim about 5-10% faster when I'm blazing the sativa vs just being indica high and possibly intoxicated (trimming is usually a weekend long event for me and some mates when the wife and kids go to visit grandma).

Although to be fair, I'm a big believer that if there is any task which requires a man (or woman) to be in their own garage for more than an hour, you are morally obligated to be a least slightly high and / or intoxicated imo.

Any time I'm generally just chilling (which I try to do as much of my waking hours as possible) though, I also prefer indica doms, otherwise I tend to get too restless to get anything done.
