Which strain!?!?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Katyaaa, Dec 7, 2021.

  1. Hello:)
Does anyone have any idea of which particular strain(s) has the following effects:
    Body: numbing/relaxing feeling
Mind: next to no anxiety and would even say creativity/positivity/good ideas ..which is surprising as more often than not I tend to feel anxious smoking and/or just run down.
I believe that's partly due to the fact that in the UK not only do you not really know what you're smoking but it's highly likely to be contaminated with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, glass/sand/hairspray etc..

{A bit of background on my medical condition:
    I have tongue muscle/swallowing difficulties due to developing a dodgy swallow pattern and as a result suffer with chronic myofacial pain and muscle tension/pain over most of my body.}
    Thank you for your time

  2. Well not everyone will really have the same effects on the same weed necessarily since everyone's different but there are strains that you'll find commonly reported effects and have a good chance of getting them yourself. Check out leafly they have the perfect thing to help find a good strain: All strains

I'll say personally haze strains for me have always been kickass for a low paranoia and awesome high. They're sativa or sativa leaning and I hear a lot of people say the opposite so it all just depends on you.

Also maybe look into 1:1 THC/CBD strains

  4. @Katyaaa I agree with @Toke_til_you_choke that a strain with CBD would be just the thing for you. CBD calms and relaxes people, and also eases pain. Sativas were favored by a lot of artists that I've known, and I find that sativas are helpful when I am doing writing. So I'd look for a CBD-rich sativa.

This is about older folks using CBD, but anxiety is anxiety, no matter what your age.

And have you ever thought about growing your own, hon? It's the ONLY way you can be 100% certain that your cannabis is free of pesticides and adulterants!

  8. thank you so much for the suggestions peeps! The way I wordered my post was a bit jumbled, was typing on my phone, its hard to do with CP!!--- what I meant to say was... could all the sh*t in street weed be a contributing factor to the smoking anxiety.. I definately believe it contributes to the run down feeling... just not sure whether to go with high THC content as I would say i am slightly more prone to fear/paranoia more than say, someone who feels predominatly depressed, altho! sinse my chronic pain began I find that I focus less on anxiety and more on whether my body feels better and if a particualr smoke makes my body feel fidgity thats when I start to get anxious.. idk if that makes sense?!
CBD has been an unusual one for me I bought some good CBD with around 1% THC (anything above 1/2% is illegal here) and I found it made me feel (physically) WEIRD my tongue felt more inflammed and uncomfortable than when I didnt take it and I wasnt loving how it made me feel mentally either but wld be interesting to know whether it was the mental effects that started off the discomfort or visa versa... maybe it was both together but my experince with CBD oil leads me to think that maybe CBD doesnt agree with me?! which is shocking to me as I always believed anything with high CBD and low THC would suit me better!
Indeed i might just have to grow my own!... I dont live on my own which is an issue but besides that i am just really struggling to pick a strain right now!!!!

  9. reguarding 1:1 cbd/thc... I am a little confused as i used to be under the impression that sativa was high thc and indica was low thc but found out that this is not the case! does choosing an indic or sativa really matter that much? and now terpines lol!! what terpines do I need?! basically what do yall think would be the main thing to focus on when picking a strain? AND when looking a strains affects eg "relaxing/uplifting" does that mean both the mental and physical effects?

  10. I have 3 spinal fractures and nerve damage in my right leg and I've been experimenting with various Pink strains. Obviously not all Pinks are created equal but I've run into some that were highly effective for treating muscle and inflammatory pain. It's not always about potency either, the right dominant combination of terpenes can make a big difference in effectiveness.

  11. In the most simplistic of terms, though not a hard and fast rule, sativas are "uppers" and indicas are "downers". There are exceptions but basically if you have stuff to do but you still want to smoke, go with a sativa. If you just want to chill and melt into the couch watching a movie or something, go with an indica.
Terpenes can be a little trickier because their full effects in cannabis haven't been thoroughly studied.
There is no main focus on picking a strain really, just go with what works for you depending on your needs/wants.

If you just want to get good ol' fashioned high, try haze or blue strains, or crosses of haze and blues.
