Which song represents your personality?

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by Samus, Sep 29, 2006.

  1. Name a song that you think describes you pretty well. If you were to have a theme song, or if you were to walk into a room and a song played, which would it be? What song do your friends or family hear and think of you?

For me, I would have to say Junkhead by Alice In Chains. Not only did I think this song represents me to the fullest, but a friend confirmed it yesterday by messaging me on AIM and said "Dude, Junkhead is your song lol". True. I feel like drugs make my life more exciting and un-empty. Also, I have been getting into oxy and H lately and it just fits me so well.

A good night, the best in a long time
A new friend turned me on to an old favorite
Nothing better than a dealer whos high
Be high, convince them to buy

    Whats my drug of choice?
    Well, what have you got?
    I dont go broke
And I do it a lot

Seems so sick to the hypocrite norm
    Running their boring drills
But we are an elite race of our own
    The stoners, junkies, and freaks

Are you happy? I am, man.
    Content and fully aware
    Money, status, nothing to me
cause your life is empty and bare

You cant understand a users mind
But try, with your books and degrees
If you let yourself go and opened your mind
Ill bet youd be doing like me
    And it aint so bad

Say, I do it a lot!
Say, I do it a lot!
Say, I do it a lot!
Say, I do it a lot!

EDIT: Here is them performing it live in '92 I think. For those of you that don't know, the lead singer died in 2002 from a speedball overdose (shooting heroin and cocaine in the same shot). http://youtube.com/watch?v=bvAmj9C5iTE WATCH THIS!!!

  5. Radiohead - Open Pick

Just as you take my hand
Just as you write my number down
    Just as the drinks arrive
Just as they play your favourite song
    As the magic disappears
No longer wound up like a spring
    Before you've had too much
    Come back and focus again

    The walls abandon shape
You've got a cheshire cat grin
    All blurring into one
This place is on a mission
    Before the night owl
    Before the animal noises
    Closed circuit cameras
    Before you're comatose

Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the noise
The beat goes round and round
The beat goes round and round
    I never really got there
I just pretended that I had
    What's the point of instruments
Words are a sawed off shotgun

Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out

Before you run away from me
    Before you start unravelling
    Before you take my mic
Just as you dance, dance, dance

    Jigsaws falling into place
    There is nothing to explain
Regard each other as you pass
She looks back, you look back
    Not just once
    Not just twice
    Wish away the nightmare
    Wish away the nightmare
You've got a light you can feel it on your back
You've got a light you can feel it on your back
    Jigsaws falling into place

  7. Music, to me, is an inspiration.. It nears the power of a narcotic in my opinion.. I couldn't say which song would be best suited to a personality. There's this one song I've been listening to alot and it depresses the shit out of me, so I can only listen to it every so often. I suppose I'll share that.. I dont know why. I'm going to the library now to get some true Da Vinci, not the fictional crappp!.. I liked Angels and Demons though? .. Anyway.

    Rushing through thirty
Getting older every day... by two
    Drawing pictures of innocent times
Can you add color... inside these lines?

I want you to lead me
    Take me somewhere
    Don't want to live
In a dream... one more day

Sure it would change my perspective
I'm certain I would change today
I'm certain it would change our ways
    Would things fall into place?

I want you to lead me
    Take me somewhere
    Just don't want to live
In a dream one more day

  8. black water - doobie brothers

  9. this or .........."Take it easy"

Well, I'm a runnin' down the road, tryin' to loosen my load,
I've got seven women on my mind:
four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me,
one says she's a friend of mine.
Take it easy, take it easy,
don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy.
Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand,
just find a place to make your stand and take it easy.

Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see:
it's a girl, my Lord, in a flat bed Ford
slowin' down to take a look at me.
Come on, baby, don't say maybe.
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me.
We may lose and we may win though we will never be here again.
So open up, I'm climbin' in, so take it easy.

Well, I'm a runnin' down the road, tryin' to loosen my load,
got a world of trouble on my mind.
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover,
    she's so hard to find.
Take it easy, take it easy,
don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy.
Come on, baby, don't say maybe.
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me.
    Oh, we got it easy,
    we oughta take it easy.

and who the hell on earth cant sit back and put black water on repeat...i just wanna know!!

  10. Neil Young - Rockin in the Free World

    "Rockin' In The Free World"

    There's colors on the street
    Red, white and blue
    People shufflin' their feet
    People sleepin' in their shoes
    But there's a warnin' sign
    on the road ahead
There's a lot of people sayin'
    we'd be better off dead
    Don't feel like Satan,
    but I am to them
So I try to forget it,
    any way I can.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

I see a woman in the night
With a baby in her hand
    Under an old street light
    Near a garbage can
Now she puts the kid away,
and she's gone to get a hit
    She hates her life,
and what she's done to it
    There's one more kid
that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love,
    never get to be cool.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

We got a thousand points of light
    For the homeless man
    We got a kinder, gentler,
    Machine gun hand
    We got department stores
    and toilet paper
    Got styrofoam boxes
    for the ozone layer
Got a man of the people,
    says keep hope alive
    Got fuel to burn,
    got roads to drive.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

  11. I am he as yo uare he as you are me and we are all together,
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly,
    I'm crying.

    Sitting on a cornflake,
Waiting for the van to come,
    Corporation t-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday,
Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.

    I am the eggman,
    They are the eggmen,
    I am the walrus.

    Coo coo coochoo

    Mister city p'licemen sitting,
Pretty little p'licemen in a row,
See how they fly like Lucy in the sky, see how they run.

    I'm crying, I'm crying-
    I'm crying, I'm crying-

    Yellow matter custard,
Dripping from a dead dogs eye,
    Crabalocker fishwife, Pornographic priestess,
Boy you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.

    I am the eggman,
    They are the eggmen,
    I am the walrus.

    Goo goo gajoob.

Sitting in my English garden waiting for the sun,
    If the sun don't come,
    You get a tan,
From sanding in the English rain.

    I am the eggman,
    They are the eggmen,
    I am the walrus.

    Goo goo gajoobgoo goo gajoob.

    Expert texpert choking smokers,
Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty,
    See how they snied.

    I'm cryin-

    Semolina pilchard,
    Climbing up the Eiffel Tower.

    Elementry penguin singing Hari Krishna,
Man you should have seen the kick in Edgar Allan Poe.

    I am the eggman,
    They are the eggmen,
    I am the walrus.

    Goo go gajoobgoo goo gabjoobgoo,
    Goo gabjoobgoo goo gabjoob joob.

  19. Coldplay : Clocks

Lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I've tried to swim against,
You've put me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing

    Come out of things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head
And a trouble that can't be named
tigers waiting to be tamed, singing

    You are
    You are

    Confusion that never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks, gonna
Come back and take you home
I could not stop that you now know, singing

    Come out upon my seas
    Cursed missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure?
Or am I part of the disease, singing

    You are
    You are
    You are
    You are

    And nothing else compares
    Oh! nothing else compares
    And nothing else compares

    You are
    You are

Home, where I wanted to go, home
Home, where I wanted to go, home
Home, where I wanted to go, home (you are)
Home, where I wanted to go, home (you are)

    And

Zero 7 : In The Waiting Line

    Wait in line
    'Till your time
    Ticking clock
    Everyone stop

Everyone's saying different things to me
    Different things to me
Everyone's saying different things to me
    Different things to me

    Woooohh
    Do you believe
    In what you see
There doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me

    Do you believe
    In what you see
    Motionless wheel
    Nothing is real
    Wasting my time
    In the waiting line
    Do you believe in
    What you see

    Nine to five
    Living lies
    Everyday
    Stealing time
    Everyone's taking everything they can
    Everything they can
    Everyone's taking everything they can
    Everything they can

    Woooohh
    Do you believe
    In what you feel
It doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me

    Do you believe
    In what you see
    Motionless wheel
    Nothing is real
    Wasting my time
    In the waiting line
    Do you believe
    In what you see

Ah and I'll shout and I'll scream
But I'd rather not have seen
And I'll hide away for another day

    Do you believe
    In what you see
    Motionless wheel
    Nothing is real
    Wasting my time
    In the waiting line
    Do you believe
    In what you see

Everyone's saying different things to me
    Different things to me
    Different things to me
    Different things to me
    Different things to me
    Everyone's taking everything they can
    Everything they can

  20. Flogging Molly - Selfish Man

Mainly because im a very selfish person, but I try not to be. All the people who love me wanted was affection but I push them away even though I love them to death. Like the song says ive let every woman slip through my hands because im such a selfish man. Plus im ugly and I know it but I keep the rhyme, it gets me where im going, meaning music has pulled me out of every depression ive ever had. I dunno everything about that song says 'me'.

I don't eat I just devour, everyone in every hour
All is me, is all I need and that's all that I care
Propelled through all this madness, by your beauty and my sadness
I'll never change or rearrange, till I've finished what I've started.

    And life leads me here
It shows me, I have never really loved no one but me
Like the time, you slipped through my hands
I'll never understand why I'm such a Selfish Man

Walk around me not before me
I'll pretend not to ignore ye
But I'll compromise if I realize you can do something for me

I'm ugly and you know it, but you think that I'm a poet
So I'll keep the rhyme if I feel in time, it gets me where I'm going

    And life leads me here
It shows me, I have never really loved no one but me
Like the time, you slipped through my hands
    And I'll never understand
No I'll never understand, why I'm such a Selfish Man

All I heard was an unearthly silence
Apart from the violence, explode in my head
Where all at once was this moment of beauty
No more since it slew me, no never again, again, again

    No I'll never understand
No I'll never understand, why I'm such a Selfish Man

Either that or Bouncing Souls - True Believers, just the way I feel about my friends good or bad.

I've met some people along the way,
some of them split some of them stay,
some of them walk some walk on by,
I've got a few friends I'll love till I die
From all of these people I try to learn,
some of them shine some of them burn,
some of them rise some of them fall,
for good or bad I've known them all
We live our life in our own way,
never really listened to what they say,
the kind of faith that doesn't fade away
    we are the true believers
Well you can fight or you can run,
under a rock till the war is won,
play it safe and don't make a sound,
    but not us
we won't back down true believers all the way,
    you and I
