Which Seed

1. buying one seed is kind of pointless because you don't know if it'll be male or female, or if it will even sprout. your chances of success with a single seed is extremely low, especially if you've never grown before. and if that is the case and you're skimping already on the seeds, then you're going to be in for a rude awakening when you start having to buy lights, soil, nutrients, pH maintenance materials, timers, carbon scrubber, fans, etc.

2. buying seeds from your dealer tells him, "hey, i'm going to grow weed in my place", which means you've then broken the number one rule of all growing: NEVER TELL A SINGLE PERSON YOU'RE GROWING. this cannot be emphasized enough.

3. you have no idea if what you're buying is actually what your dealer says it is.

4. to alleviate problems 1-3, just buy some seeds from a reliable seed bank or breeder. attitude seed bank, nirvana seeds and high grade seeds are all legitimate in my experience. there are many others that are reliable and reasonably priced...check out the seed bank section.

I know I didn't answer your question, but I think you'll be better off if you take this advice. Just my thoughts is all.

 

Chronic will be the easiest first grow, by far. Good commercial strain. Hard to kill, high yield, and good smoke. Either of the other two, you're looking at oldschool sativa pickiness, stretch, and flower time. The Chronic will take about half the time of those two under 12/12.

Malawi is some good fucking weed though.

EDIT: Also: what chiefton said. Your weed dealer pays his bills because you, and others, don't grow their own weed. He has no reason to sell you legit seeds. Unless he's a close, real, friend, as in you were friends before he started dealing, a dealer is not a good person to get seeds from. Once he fucks up and gets busted, you're just another chance at knocking some time off.

 

Why don't you just buy from a legit seedbank yourself??Your "dealer" is probably doing the same and charging you out the ass.I always get sealed breeders packs when I get seeds otherwise for all you know those seeds came from a bag of schwag...Oh and what you said about Malawi...Greenhouse Seed Co. traveled to Africa(pretty sure thats where it originated) just to get that pure landrace strain to breed with so it is def a great strain!Watch the vid they hike for hrs and hrs looking for the perfect patch of Malawi to get genetics from.It's a sativa and would probably be hell trying to grow your first time but a great strain hands down!As for best germination method...throw em in the dirt and water em but start them in small cups and work your way up.Good luck man!

 

I've been using sensibleseeds.com and I always get the order!Prolly shouldn't post how they send it but you'll get em for sure Not a good idea to have them sent to where ur gonna grow either.But hey if ur boy is gonna hook u up for free then I would just try that out first to get ur skills dialed in I've gone through loads of cash setting my shit up just right and fuckin shit up just right lol...Live and learn!Indoors I would tell him you want an indica strain or a small indica/sativa mix.Sativa will stretch way out and might cause problems.I grew Hawaiian Snow vegged it for about 3 weeks wasn't even a foot tall..at the end it was over 6ft in my closet!!Robbed all the other plants of light and fucked them all up.But the herb from the hawaiian put your ass way above the clouds!!I could have avoided that problem with a shorter veg time.

 

For starters you can get the Greenhouse Indica packs they are cost effective...colored seeds so you don't get confused and the coloring is a rooting stimulant.I'm growin out one of those packs now but 2 of the seeds died not sure why but I got Trainwreck,White Widow,AMS.AMS is seriously pouring out resin and its got 5 weeks to go.Greenhouse wins every cannabis cup I love their genetics but keep in mind they''re not the only breeders.Some other good ones are DNA,Mr.Nice,Sensi,Big Buddah(grew their blue cheese fuckin amazing!!) just to name a few...once yyou get goin you'll never stop!!

 

Got any plans on what lights your gonna use or what your setup is gonna be?Like soil,nutes,etc?

 

Ha!I just had to run out to the store to get some insecticidal soap I got mites in my lemon skunk!!!Noooooooo!!!Should be fine though...Anyway if you're on the east coast REAL garden shops are hard to find..west coast is prob way different..But I start my babies out in dixie cups.Water them just a little bit with a ml dropper.I wait until I see roots coming out the bottom so you gotta cut holes in the bottom of the cup for drainage.Some really good soil is Foxfarms Ocean Forest but there are many others.I like that soil because it is loaded with organics and your plants explode when you start potting up as they get bigger!I think a good starter nutirent would be the Foxfarm 3 pack Grow Big,Big Bloom,Tiger Bloom..it's pretty hard to over feed with that line just make sure you flush every 2 or 3 weeks to get excess nute buildup outta there.You'll obviously need pots or grow bags either one will work.A full flowering plant needs a nice root mass so get atleast 3 gallon pots or bags for when they get big.Lighting is a big deal.Those lights you have what is the Kelvin temp?6500K is for vegging because it puts out more blue and white spectrum and as you drop down in K the light gets more orange and thats used to flower.Also check out to see how many lumens those lights put out.Believe my 400w HPS puts out 55,000 lumens.If ur only gonna grow a plant or 2 for yourself just get a small Metal Halide/HPS interchangeable so you can use it for both veg and flower.You can get 150w system for 70 bucks from htgsupply.com Now I'm not to sure how much heat a 150 gives off but I know a 400 will cook your plants if you don't vent it,another mistake I learned the hard way.Or you can use CFL's,check that Kamel CFL guide on here I'm using CFL's to veg and results arent that great when flowering.So in a nutshell you need seeds,dirt,pots,food,light,and a space to put it all in.

 

Actually whatI said about CFL's..I take that back...they work good for vegging and you can flower a small plant with it.Ive never tried flowering with CFL's but that Kamel dude does it so don't let not having a Hight Intensity light discourage you from growing.
