  5. thanks for that answer
    u were really helpful.

  6. Avoid the Hype. "Bud Candy" is about as stupid as buying a "flushing agent".

Pretty labels do not mean "pretty bomb" products. Sun of Mans response was solid advice. If you were to go over to the Organics forum you will find a thread called "Organic Soil for Beginners" which will allow you to simply keep your soil moist with clear water from start to finish and not need to buy even one of those Hydro Store bottles - ever. You do not need them.

i would go to that thread if i wanted to do that ive seen that thread already

Mix up some dirt, some organic material, some compost, and some rocks, water it and leave it alone..

    vs.

pH adjust everything, monitor pH and EC/PPM constantly, very carefully measure and mix nutrients every time, flushing, fixing nutrient lockout, cal/mag lockout, nutrient burn, buying 20 different products, etc etc etc et al ad nauseam.

Organic growing is much more simple than synthetic fertilizer gardening, it is just a completely different skill set and knowledge base. Not more difficult, just different.

  9. Any synthetic nute will work fine Ive had great results from the full h&g line to the basic lucas/maxibloom kiss nutes..just get whatevers cheapest and look online to tips on feeding schedules

  10. thats good to know anyway thanks !

    ill try it sometime too
u got me with not having to do all the ph shit :D haha

  11. That's what got me too, lol. It's what a lot of people are drawn in by.

"You mean pHing everything is unneccesary!? I'm in!"

It's amazing how the cannabis growing hobby paradigm has pushed this onto people as a "necessity."

If you grow plants naturally, it's not only unncessary, but detrimental. I'm all for less work!

  12. im so for less work lmao

  13. Or continually spending money on bottles vs buying NO bottles.

Simply keeping your medium moist with tap water vs following "feeding schedules".

    No flushing - ever.

Being able to reuse this soil over and over and over again. The last money I spent, besides electricity was around 9 months ago when I needed to buy a few light bulbs.

No need to worry about "deficiencies".

    High quality end product.

But I understand this being your first grow - its something to think about for the future anyhow. If you take a look at "Old Doobies" thread he bought several bags of "ready to grow" organic soil from KIS Organics - and this was his first grow too. Check out his results. His thread is somewhere here in the "Indoor Growing" forum.

    Peace.

  14. If you want something cheap, you can buy some bagged soil like Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Roots Organics and amend it with some perlite, kelp meal, crab meal, and earthworm castings.  You may have decent results that way fairly cheaply without having to buy the bottled nutrients.  Otherwise you can go with that bagged soil and then use Fox Farm nutes.  Eventually you will want to take the advice from the guys above and jump over to the organics side.  Its much easier and makes a much better product by doing less.  I don't need no meters or any bottles, its all in my soil.

  15. checked out that thread looks like hes gonna have a pretty dank harvest haha

  16. Yes he will. Very dank.

With bagged (not your ordinary commercial bagged) soil -

    And water.

  17. i would like to get my hands on that soil of his lol

  18. I have to agree with the use of organic soil/home made soil. After this harvest im going down that route. This grow i have used Jacks Classic products at a very minimal amount. 1. Its cheap. 2. It basically contains many of the same elements that the expensive tattoo artist designed bottles that so many people here keep pushing. Hell, you want to blow $20-$60 everytime you turn around on nutrients?? Go right ahead. I spent $5 for what i've been using and it could last me for 7 more grows if needed. But you know what?? I agree, to hell with all that ph adjusting headaches.
