WHEW!!! 05' outdoorsman! It's some hard work

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by realdealz28, Apr 4, 2005.

  1. Whew!!! Well I finally got my outdoor setup ready and done! The reward...8 beauties. BUT DAMN!!! It's so hot that I thought I'd never get done digging all those holes!!! I am so tired just smoked a big bowl though and now its time to set back and enjoy. So all that hard work is done now...glad I didn't procrastinate any longer! Well, I just wanted to share with someone that the 4+ hrs of prep. and 1.5 months of growing from babies might just end up paying off! I'll let everyone know how it goes.

  2. ya realdealz28, i'm almost done with mine. so far i have dug a plot about 6'x6'x3' for 9 plants. it has taken over 1000lbs of fresh bagged soil to fill the hole. it's alot of work, but i think it'll be worth it. last year i only dug about 1' down and mixed 100lbs of dirt in for 4 plants and got well over a 1/2lb of dry bud. this year i'm expecting 1/2lb per plant. i'm hoping for at least 2lbs of dry bud. i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one working my a*s off this season.

    good growin' :)

  3. sounds great dylan, I can't wait to smoke that first bowl from the harvest... I am expecting around 2lbs dried for personal. I have another grow off somewhere else too that has already started there i will only get about 1lb though. I've got a mix of diff. strains from 100% sativas to 100% indicas.. i wanted the best of both worlds and I got plenty of combos!

Dylan: what soil did you use... I have found that a potting soil called fertilome works excellent!.

  4. i'm using a mix of top soil and potting soil......don't know the brand. i got four different white strains and some bagseeds.

  5. Sweet, I just found the key to a blocked off room in my house so I'll be growing 1-2 plants under compact floro's in there, I know not the best but all I really want is a personal stash, so a few ounces would make me happy

If I get enough seeds I'm also gonna try to do one outside, but it's going to be in the woods so I don't know if it'll get enough sunlight, and the animals may be a problem.

edit: By the way this is only my first attempt ever, so as long as it isn't a complete disaster I'll be pretty happy.

And is there any kind of lightbulb I could buy for a standard light fixture that would work better than flourecents?

  6. uggie: all a plant needs is around 5hrs outside to make it. but if you are growing inside you should consider going to home depot and getting 150 watt home security lamp ( has to be HPS)!! but if you don't get those put about 3-4 CFL(the ones shaped like a light bulb but twisted and all!) you might want to consider a fan too!

  7. Thanks for the advice, right now I have only 3 seeds, they are 100% feminized, unknown strain. I want to grow at least 1 indoors, and 1 outdoors, what do you think I should do with the 3rd seed? I'll be getting more bagseed later, but this is what I have to work with for now.

And for the indoor grow, I can have them outside in a place with great sunlight until they get about a foot tall, after that I have to put them under CFL's. But my concern is if bringing it from a good source of sunlight,(16-18hrs a day) to a 24/7 schedule of CFL's is a good idea. Reason being that CFl's would be weaker right?
