step 1: make sure you have a FUCKTON of money. i'd have at least $5000 put away for a torch/kiln/glass/lessons step 2: glasspipes.org, contact every glassblower in your area, ask if they would be willing to offer lessons or an apprenticeship, and request a quote for how much they would cost. step 3: after you find one, work with him a bit, and if you end up confidant enough to buy your own equipment, go to generationsglass.com and buy all the shit you need. step 4: keep up with your lessons and practice, and you'll be able to make usable pieces within the first year probably, and sellable pieces within 3-4 years. step 5: ???? step 6: PROFIT!!!!
All that costs 5K? I have around 3K put away at the moment..I do have afew local blowers that I might be able to contact. Thanks alot man.
the "wonka 2" kit on generations is recommended for amateur blowers, and that includes everything but a kiln and glass. so just get that, a kiln to meet the needs of what you plan on blowing, and some glass.
see if theres any glass blowing class places around. Like I know that a high school in my area has a glass blowing class/studio (not waterpipes lol, but it gets you the basics). I also know of a studio where they teach/let you rent a furnace and shit not too far away. They let you blow w.e you want there. past that, apprientece with a pro to become pro.
so the glasspipes.org site you listed isnt working?? i think it might just be down, but is that like a database of glassblowers?? i need to find a glass blower in my area.
