I'm planning on going to home depot of a similar store tomorrow to get lights. What wattage should I use? I was looking online and most places have like max 45 watt CFLs. Does anyone know how high of wattage CFLs home depot carries and how much on average do they cost?
The max wattage I have seen at Home Depot and similar places is 42w. My store runs them at about $11. You can find 85w, 105w, 150w CFLs on ebay and such.
I tried looking for high wattage CFLs on ebay but all i found were like 20 watts = 80 watts and such On ge.com the max wattage they have is 26 watts.
Try using the search term "compact fluorescent" on ebay, instead of "CFL". I got very different results between the two terms. The higher wattages I found using "compact fluorescent". Hope that helps.
Do they sell those light reflector things at home depot and do they come with the socket and everything? How much do those cost?
I couldn't find mylar locally, bought it from ebay myself. For the 42w CFLs and such, you can find the fixtures at Walmart or Home Depot. They are clamp light fixtures. They come with a rounded reflector. The bigger ones on ebay come with everything.
I have seen a better selection of the cfl's at lowes. Higher wattages. Which of the cfl's do you wanna use for flowering? 2700K?
The ones on Ebay come with the reflector and socket and all that.. the 105w and the 150w. You can see the reflector in the picture on the listing..
Bro I baught two 65 watts cfls put them into one of those reflector hoods built to house two hids and the light meter registerd higher than my 400w mh granted the halide needed glass to air cool but i was shocked. I dont think that the spectrum is quite the same just cause the stems are not nearly that prodused by a mh for some reason but seems that plants are stocker with bigger healthyer put a foot away vs 2 in. but go to the lighting for outdoors by the mercury vapors hps etc... and theyr right there in a shoe box sized blue and white box that says florex on it costs about 45 a piece ant they also sell this conversion florex that screws into any 250w i believe mercury vapor ballasts which ruyns round 20$ and this thing looks wicked as fuk claims to equal 1000w but there it is though for all i know i am probly using the wrong shit but at three weeks they seem to be doing as well as tubes would. not only am i new to growing but the computer shit to so i will read this post later if theres a way 2 get u a private message i will tell u where they are free.gl
oh yeah forgot cheap mylar wall mart camping section emergency blankets 3.00 or most 99c stores in the gift wrap the shiny plain stuff a buck a roll aand some was saying that the gold is good for flower especially if no hps but the sourse i heard this from i have never known him to have a grow op so either hes real good or talkin thru his poop shoot cause i have never heard of this i think ill post a thread cause if theyr is any truth these guys will know here . gl
